I ordered the jalapeño burger. It was to die for. I also ordered fries. The fries were so tasty. I hate shoestrings, thin fries. These fries were perfectly cooked, crisp yet soft, and not super thin. Everything was delicious!!

“This actually looks like a $15 sandwich.” - Edit
That’s what my husband said as soon as else got our food. We’ve been to so many vegan places that have $15 sandwiches that don’t look or taste like $15. We had the oyster mushroom po’ boys and it tasted beyond a $15 meal. They were so stinking good. Come here. The environment is great and the food is even better.

BEST VEGAN BURGER - Edit
The vibe here was amazing. It was a Friday night, there was a DJ, and that vegan impossible burger had the most unreal sauce on it. I’m ballin on a budget and I wish the fries came with the burger as a side (instead of $5 extra) but the burger was so good it was worth it.

Want to love it so bad but I’m done trying - Edit
I have had 2 experiences at Vegan Crave. I really wanted to love it. The food was good but the first visit we had someone (not the owner) working and she wasn’t pleasant. I asked a few questions and she just made me feel dumb for asking. Wasn’t sure the difference between truffle fries vs regular. We got our food and were happy with it. My friends wasn’t happy with the experience but I said I’d come back since the owner was probably much friendlier and would have explained better.
Read moreWell after the local vegan pop up we decided we wanted dessert. Decided to splurge on the cheesecake at Vegan Crave. It’s $15/slice before fees so pretty expensive. Got to the window and waited and the owner was there this time. I recognized her from the instagram account. She told us she had no time to take our order and to us the app or to keep waiting. It was chilly so we just ordered on our phone. I love the iron district most days but this day the heaters weren’t out and it was windy and cold. The order said it’d take 20 mins. Made no sense to me but whatever. After 15 minutes of baring the cold I decided to just check and see if it was ready even though no communication was given via text. The owner came up and kept asking who ordered the cheesecake and we kept saying we did. We were the only ones at the window. She then tries to hand a bag of food over and says they are out of that cheesecake and offered two separate flavors to choose from. We tell her we didn’t order whatever was in the bag. She then asks what other kind of cheesecake we want. Both flavors were unappealing. After about a minute she suggests a refund. We accept. Well she kept the tip after all that. I’m just shocked at the situation. This whole thing would have been avoided if she just spoke to us at the window.
Kind Food was one of our favorite spots to stop. There aren’t as many vegan options in KC anymore and it’s hard to have such a negative experience. I love that Vegan Crave is woman owned. I really really want to love it but I have a very sour taste in my mouth about the whole thing. Ended up going to treehugger for a peanut butter tart. (Highly recommend)

This was amazing and in such a cute location made of shipping containers. Mostly outdoor but there is enclosed heating upstairs.

I am normally not a black bean burger lover, but I had heard they were amazing. I guess I’m a black bean burger lover now! I had the portobello bean burger and it was incredible. The sweet pickles and vegan mayo were a great flavor surprise. The homemade fries were perfection, portion was surprisingly large. I should have suspected since the offer a half order. #Veganuary

I haven’t stopped thinking about this food! Seriously I think I’m ruined! We don’t live in Kansas City. We are traveling in a motorhome across the US. This is some of the best vegan food we have ever eaten. Hands down the best vegan and gluten free cheesecake we have EVER had. So incredibly light and flavorful. My husband and I were fighting over it. Truffle fries were great, burgers were awesome and holy cow that cheese cake! FANTASTIC

3rd strike, you're out - Edit
First time we came, sign on window said "all sold out". Second time we came, no one was there even though it was during listed hours, 3rd time we called ahead to be sure. But what I am about to describe turned me off and I will probably not be returning. You are not allowed to verbally place your order at the window (even though I tried). You must use a QR code to see menu, then you have to put in all your personal contact info in order to place an order, then (I presume) you'd have to enter your credit card info. Number one, I am not interested in sharing personal data to order a sandwich. And two, I'm not interested in going through all those steps outside in 95 F KC summer.

You won’t miss the meat with one of these delicious vegan burgers. They are cheesy with the perfect amount of toppings. The bun is grilled to perfection! Additionally, they offer top-notch baked goods to satisfy your sweet tooth. Can’t recommend Vegan Crave highly enough!!
