Always a good idea - Edit
It was the first vegan restaurant I've tried, and one of my go-to places ever since.
Read moreI've been there several times, so I can tell that the quality of the foods have been developing.
Any choice you make, you're gonna love it! The burgers, salads, vegan cheese, tofu, cakes.. everything is pretty good.
It's like a cafeteria, you have to stand in the queue than choose.
Very nice staff (with handsome guys haha) and a comfortable place.
Pros: Good location, Vide selection of delicious food

I liked it a lot - Edit
Vega city is a nice restaurant, I ate an Indian dish and it was delicious. It's also very cheap, so I recommend it. The staff was very nice and patient with me while I was figuring out what to order.

Staff speak English and are friendly; delicious hearty smoothies for roughly $1, pleasant environment. We enjoyed the arugula salad, red lentil stew, pita, and beetroot smoothie!

All vegan - Edit
I always get exicted when going to a place all vegan.
Read moreBut sometimes the quality just does'nt live up the expectations I have.
My boyfriend had a burger, and was quite dissapointed.
My friends and I had the carbonara and some deepfried vegetables. Both kinda tasteless.
I hope to go back again and find the food more flavourfull.
Pros: All vegan , Fair price, Friendly staff
Cons: Looks better than it tastes

Loads of savoury and sweet food to choose from. You pay by the weight, really reasonably priced. Only con is it would be nice to have the option to heat up some of the savoury foods

pre-made burgers in stale buns - Edit
Unfortunately disappointing ... The burgers looked really good on photos but we were surprised that they are served cold as they are pre-made waiting on shelves for order. So it's really a sandwich by my standards not a crunchy, hot, cheese melting burger. The buns were also rather hard so we ended up leaving the bread part. We also had chickpea curry which was ok but not fantastic. We won't be coming back for sure. Shame as this place has potential.

Really tasty food - Edit
We went to Budapest with school for one week. The first time we were there (with my friend who is also vegan), we were overwhelmed by the options. We ended up ordering too much for two people but we still somehow managed to finish. One reason for our success is the great taste of the food. We ate there the following 3 days, too. You can also take your food with you. It was so cheap that we always tipped nearly the same amount the food cost. I can highly recommend the Retroburger and the breaded vegetables (but everything else, too)
Read morePros: Great variety of cheap options, friendly staff (not annoyed by too many questions), delicious
Cons: Scary stairs made out of glass (but manageable), very full in the afternoon

Great place! - Edit
Went here not expecting much, but my expectations were blown away! Amazing food options and everything is so tasty! My biggest regret is being so full I couldn't try everything. Non vegan hubby loved it too.

When I saw this place I made sure I went in to try it whilst in Budapest but now I feel I cheated myself out of a better experience.
Read moreIt says vegan restaurant on the front but I was told some of the smoothies were unsuitable because they had milk in them so not sure why cows milk wouldn't be subbed in a vegan restaurant.
I went for the falafal plate and maybe that was a mistake because it wasn't even average. Not that cheap either.
I felt, on the whole they were trying to cash in on the clean eating/healthy food fad rather than striving to offer good quality vegan variety.
With hindsight I should have gone to one of the other great vegan places in town and that would be my advice to you also. However, I guess if you're stuck and hungry it's good to have somewhere as a choice.
Also, no dogs allowed - any vegan establishment worth its salt allows dogs and has snacks/water for then too.
Pros: clean, friendly staff
Cons: milk in some smoothies, no dogs allowed , food average

Lots to choose from! - Edit
I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed by this place and not entirely sure how it worked. I think payment related to plate size or weight, but there were also burgers that, perhaps, were priced differently? (I should've used Google Translate, I think!) They had a really wide range of dishes, with lots of vegetables, which I was dying for! Be very careful carrying a full tray up those glass stairs to the mezzanine - I nearly took a tumble!

Delicious Vegan Food - Edit
This place has a wide variety of foods to choose from including soups, pasta, more traditional Hungarian foods, seitan, veggies and more. I went at a busy time and found it a little overwhelming trying to choose what I'd like as people behind me also wanted to order but the choices I had were fantastic.
Read moreI started with a Thai Coconut soup as Hungarians always start their dinner with a soup. It was delicious. I also had a crumbed seitan patty/fillet and then a lasagna which was very creamy and had an almost cheesy texture. My non vegan friend enjoyed it a lot.
Service was friendly but a little rushed.
Atmosphere was busy but didn't feel too crowded. Upstairs seating is spacious enough.
I would return for sure.
Pros: Friendly staff, Wide range of food, All vegan
Cons: Gets very busy, A bit rushed when ordering

Busy, but hearty food - Edit
It was quite busy so you do have to queue for a bit to be served but it's all fast food, pre-prepared so once you're served it's fine.
Read moreThe burgers are cold so do get them with some warm potatoes if it's cold outside.
Cakes were really hit and miss, we bought 4 varieties, the chocolate one was ok, vanilla one was nice, the fruit ones were awful. The texture is very weird.
Pros: Hearty food, Selection is good
Cons: Desserts weren't great, Busy, Space

Decent food at good location - Edit
The place is the former Lé Bar which has moved a few doors to a bigger place and changed its name, but the concept is pretty much the same. Tables on the main floor and on the gallery. The location of the place is perfect if You are a tourist and looking for something to eat in the city centre. It is very close to the synagogue.
Read moreStaff speaks English. In high season at around lunch time, tend to get very busy and hot inside.
The selection is nice, there is a daily menu - only one dish - at a fixed price, the rest is a mix of fixed prices and based on weigth. For health conscious vegans this place will be a heaven, for somone looking for spicy food and new flavours, welp I would say You might get disappointed. In my view the taste of the food is way to plane and spiceless to me.
Prices are okay in terms of European, international context. Daily menu at around 4 Euros, the rest is based on weight, so it hard to make a rough estimate since it depends how much You eat. If You are hungry and would like to get 3 courses and a drink then around 10-12 Euros.
