Excellent food and service - Edit
Vantra has been bouncing around the west end of London these last few years. Finding affordable venues in that area must be a nightmare! They have just landed in a basement at the lower end of Wardour Street on the China Town side of Shaftesbury Avenue. Although there is not much of an entrance (and some rather inaccessible stairs) the space below is much roomier than their last venue in Oxford St. Their food is the epitome of healthy, lots of steamed and fermented veg and an incredible range of super tasty interesting textures and flavours the like of which, in my experience, are unique to Vantra. Lots of mushroom dishes :)!
Read moreThen there are the cakes! These are in short supply because they are so good. We waited for the chef to make some specially for us and it was well worth it. We shared two chocolate almond based raw cakes one of which was orange flavoured and stands out as one of the best desserts I have enjoyed since Heathers almost two decades ago.
The service is always friendly and helpful, Elis was the star waitress of the day for us.
Vantra may have lost its Oxford St enticing window display but make sure you don't lose out by not checking out their new premises.
They still use the self service buffet system with the price depending on the weight of your choice. A largish plate of food will set you back about £12.50

Super tasty - Edit
We were so hungry after theatre and were happy to discover this place still opened and with such a wide choice of the buffet. Food was tasty and seemed not greasy at all, which sometimes can be a problem with buffets. Vantra was great. I will be back to check out their coffee and desserts menu!

Great Vegan Food, Centrally Located at Reasonable Prices - Edit
We recently had a lunch and a dinner at Vantra Loungevity at their new location at 5 Wardour Street in London. Very convenient location within easy walking distance of theaters and museums. The buffet offers lots of delicious choices and is a great value. We especially liked the lentils, chili and asparagus/broccoli and the vegan cheesecake. They also have a wide selection of smoothies, juices etc. Very friendly and informal atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Healthiest Vegan Buffet Ever. Pay by weight Buffet - Edit
Great selection of green, grains & currys, probiotics & kimchis. Raw Cakes are a must. We’ve never felt this light after a Buffet. 5 mins walk from Picadilly Circus. Both the owners, husband & wife are true examples of what veganism is truly about. They are kind, compassionate & so helpful. This is the Best ‘pay by weight’ Vegan Buffet Ever. £1.80 per 100grams.

New location at 5 Wardour Street - Edit
Almost went to the old location, but it's now just opposite the W hotel at basement level on Wardour street.
Read moreThe buffet offers many different options and there is a wide sauce/spice/oil selection too. It's buffet style, but you pay per weight. A concept I'm personally not very keen on. The takeout boxes seem better value for money, although our (full) plates came to 10-12 GBP, which is reasonable for the type of ingredients and central location.
The star of our meal was the lemon coconut cheesecake. There was a long list of hot drinks available too, which I'll have to try another time.
The owner was really friendly and very knowledgeable about food. I heard he's been a vegan for something like 28 years or so.
There was plenty of room and I think they are looking to host music events etc, so could be very interesting. I just wish they still had the á la carte option too.
Pros: Central location, Plenty of space, Wide selection of food and drinks
Cons: Accessibility - at basement level, Cash only

Brillaint - Edit
So impressed with this place. Popped in for a takeaway, selection was amazing. £7.50 for a large bowl which I think is very reasonable for central London. Was so tasty.

Simply amazing! - Edit
Review I left on their FB...thought Happycow family should know too:
Read moreDidn't get the chance to check out Vantra in its previous location, but went to the new spot today and it is awesome! I enjoyed an awesome feast of fresh, raw, probiotic foods from the buffet. The selection was great and along with the raw sauces on offer including fermented chilli, ginger oil and fermented soybean paste, it made for one of the most flavourful meals I've ever had! Was a pleasure to speak to the owner, who shared some of his wealth of knowledge on probiotic foods and their benefits, as well as different tastes and why it's important to eat foods satisfying all of these.
I paid £7 for my plate of food and it was more than filling. Not sure why other reviews suggest otherwise, but I found it very reasonably priced. The smoothie and juice I had were delicious too and I'm really looking forward to trying more from their extensive menu.
Not often you can say you feel great after eating at a buffet, but today I felt in better health than when I went in. Can't wait to return!
Pros: Delicious nutritious food!, Amazing vibe, Juice/smoothie/tea selection
Cons: Why weren't there more people here?!

healthy and tasty - Edit
This place shows that healthy can be tasty too! Probably the best vegan place in London. Previous location on Oxford St was maybe a better spot, but that one although in a basement, has more space. You can choose from over dozen of raw and cooked dishes plus several sauces. They have some attractive looking deserts too, which I haven't tried yet.
