Yummy!

I have tried every vegan restaurant in the Dallas Metro-plex. The V-Spot is the only vegan upscale cafe with a refined romantic atmosphere. You will not find a nicer place. This is my go-to Valentine's Day, birthday and date night spot.

I have eaten at the V-Spot twice and both times the AC and or electricity was off. But that did not affect the food. I was happy to see the addition of raw vegan entrees! I ordered the heirloom tomato lasagna that came with a small side salad. It was delicious. (A bit salty, but I never add salt to my food.)

I read the reviews about food allergies from 2 other posters. I agree, that it is hard to eat out when you have food allergies and it is nice when restaurants have specific menu items for individuals with multiple allergies.

I have many food allergies: mushrooms, strawberries, gluten, all grains, soy, beans, legumes, peanuts and basil.

I told the waitress that I was allergic to basil and she had the chef leave off one of the sauces that contained it. I would have ordered a raw dessert, but the chef who had made it was out and the waitress was not sure if it was soy free.

I highly recommend the V-Spot!

Not impressed

My wife and I went out to celebrate with a large group of friends. We called ahead explaining that several members of our large party had several food allergies (gluten, wheat, rice, corn, beans, lentils, soy, peanuts, basil, mushrooms, and Ceiliac disease. The waiter assured us that they had many options.

We were all disappointed in our experience. Sadly, five members of our group could only eat salad, french fries and the meager piece of mushroom from the mushroom burger minus the wheat bun. They left still very much hungry and disappointed.

The food at the V-spot is American diner food that has been veganized. The V-Spot is over priced for the amount of food you receive and it is not allergy friendly.

I wish the V-Spot would change their menu and add more raw foods. Also it would be great if they offered wholesome options like steamed or grilled vegetables, brown rice, roasted root vegetables, mashed sweet potatoes and baked potaotes. A lot of people who are vegan have become so due to food allergies or food intolerance.

FYI, Wholesome Foods Bakery offers Vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and allergy friendly baked goods. The V-spot could purchase their products and serve them in their restaurant.

Healthy

V-spot's menu can be seen at vspotcafe.com

My friends and I ate here a few nights ago. I ordered a start me up $6.5, mixed green salad $9, polano corn chowder $9 and no entree due to allergies.

The V-Spot menu featured vegan and raw vegan upscale dining items.

Unlike the Spiral Diner, the V-Spot does not have a special allergy friendly menu. I wish they would make one and mark it COF= coconut free, CF-corn free, SF=soy free, BLF= bean and legume free, WF=wheat free, GF= gluten free NF= nut free and PF=peanut free

If you have allergies like many vegans do, watch out. You will be stuck with a drink and a salad. Unless they change their menu. Check back. I think they are listening to customers.

Latin Vegan Food

Yes, the empanadas are wonderful, but you really should try the lasagna at this hipster restaurant. Our whole family likes going there for lunch, and the owner is a super cool dude who supports many organizations/events. In the summer, the backyard is the best!

Pros: tasty food, nice service

Cons: small space

Ordered most popular on menu

I ordered the most popular thing on the menu based upon input from the waiter. It was some kind of pasta (fettucini) and it was awful. The poblano soup was very good. Waiter mentioned they are changing the menu to include more raw juices. It should be an improvement!
