Very nice ramen and gioza - Edit
I took the Hana ramen, it is full with toppings and comes with 2 gioza. I didn't know that and ordered another gioza on the side. Nevertheless it was all good and I was really hungry so it was for the best!
Read moreThe food was really great and I enjoyed the company of another person who can to eat alone.
Cons: As many places in Japan in the evening, long line

Crazy delicious & very popular - Edit
Like most places in Kyoto, be prepared to wait. But totally worth it for the deliciously rich and tasty ramen (and cheezy rice to finish)

Best vegan ramen in Kyoto - Edit
The DanDan noodle ramen was sooo good! The attention to detail was admirable. The waiting time was a little long (~1 hour) but it was so worth it! Recommend getting there before 7 to avoid the long wait.

The bestest vegan ramen - Edit
Phenomenal ramen. We waited two hours and it was totally worth it. Would've come back again if we had more time.
Read moreThis is the best ramen I've ever had, vegan or not, and probably the single best meal I've had in a decade.
The waiting system is confusing. If there's a line outside, write your name on the list and then wait for however long it takes for the hostess to come out and take your order. Then you'll continue to wait outside until your food is ready, at which point they'll finally seat you.
And yes, the restaurant shares a building with a laundromat in the back and an Airbnb above. Nevermind the decor. It's the food that totally makes this worthwhile. The side dishes (croquettes, the fermented rice thing, ice cream, cream brulee, etc.) are similarly delicious and well worth trying. Easily the best veggie food in Kyoto if not all Japan.
Pros: Absolutely delicious, Much yum, Worth every minute of the wait
Cons: Long, long wait , Longer than they say

Exciting - Edit
This really feels like one of those places that will get picked up and you'll need to ring a month in advance to get a bowl of their ramen. Absolutely delicious. Went just before 6pm and got seated and served our food within 30mins.

Really great ramen!!! Top 3 for sure. Waited a long time but definitely worth it. Get the cheesy rice to put in your soup for a risotto dish- chefs kiss

Not Worth the Long Wait - Edit
We were waiting at the front of the line for over an hour today, with no acknowledgment or wait time updates from the staff.
Read moreThey were severely understaffed, with two in the kitchen and one hall staff. It almost seemed like it was the hall staff member's first day as she had no idea what she was doing or how to serve the customers.
The restaurant was tiny, with three small tables and one counter for people to sit at. They were only using the three tables and had the whole counter empty, although there was a line of over 10 people outside.
There were random people always going through the restaurant as there was a coin laundry at the back and an elevator going up to an Air BnB unit.
We were finally let in and got our ramen an hour and a half later. The broth was nice, but the noodles were made of rice flour (which is great for GF) but unfortunately it had the shape and texture of spaghetti, and didn't have that nice chewy ramen noodle texture. There was also too much salty soy meat that sunk to the bottom.
If you do go there and see that there's already a line outside, I would say don't bother waiting. We had very limited time in Kyoto and we were annoyed that we wasted so much time waiting for this unsatisfying meal.
We've had better vegan ramen elsewhere!

Good ramen but pricey - Edit
I liked the place and the ramen was very tasty. However, it was more expensive than other ramen options, and I don't think I would pay for it again.

A vegan ramen experience - Edit
This is not your usual ramen, since it's served in soy milk and not broth. The dish presentation is a piece of art, the attention for the details is mind blowing. It's the real Japanese way of eating, not only with the mouth but also with the eyes: the colours and the shapes of the vegetables is unique and a real feast. The side dish with rice and grilled vegan cheese was the most delicious thing I ate here in Kyoto this week. I'm so happy we finally managed to try this place!

A great place to eat - Edit
After what felt like a daunting jostling trip to find food with all our bags - my friend and I really enjoyed being able to eat and relax here. The ramen was quite good with sprouts and cream ontop as well as options to add different spices according to your taste. The dumplings were also quite good with bamboo in the filling as well as soup. Finally the desserts were presented super cute and were delicious! We had a great time with friendly and helpful staff :)

The ramen is beautifully prepared and looks like a work of art. However, it was a bit bland and pricey.
Read moreThere is a laundromat and parking lot through the restaurant, which you can see, and people walking back and forth through the dining spaces just to get between these other places and the street. Kind of weird.

Not all 4 stars are created equal - Edit
No seriously it doesn't even come close to being as good as most of the vegetarian/vegan ramen I've had. It wasn't bad, it's good, but not anywhere close to being worth the hype. It is a little pricey too. There are plenty of other places that also serve meat options whose vegan ramen were excellent, bar none, which I can't give 5 stars on this app.

Delicious and unique - Edit
We enjoyed the evening at Uno Yukiko so much! The prices are a little bit higher but it’s definitely worth it because the food is simply delicious, vegan, glutenfree and most of the time also in organic quality. In fact it was the best vegan food we had so far in Japan. The staff is really friendly, speaks good English and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. In the evening it’s a good idea getting there a little bit early in order to receive a table.

This place was one of the only vegan restaurants open on New Years and we were so grateful. The staff are super friendly, the place is cute, the ramen was so delicious (especially with the spices they give you to add on the side)! Also recommend getting the Szechuan pickles to mix in.

Vegan ramen - Edit
This place is fully vegan which is amazing! The ramen I had was Yuki for 1200 Yen and it was a good portion size. I liked the cream on top. The two owner are nice and friendly. I love that you can spice it up with four different kinds of flavors.
Read moreThe ramen was not hot, but still good (they say the serve it for the best taste - I prefer hot food still). The vegan meat was good, but too strong taste (smoked?), also it was quite cold because it’s not a great location. It is in between a laundry room and hotel so it feels weird and dark. Good options not sure if I’d go again.
