Sandwich bar with a few vegan options

I had been a big fan of Trzesniewsky for about 40 years, so I first went there when I was not a vegan, or even vegetarian. This was originally (when they only had the single restaurant in Dorotheergasse) a "secret tip" in Vienna that my father had introduced me to at a young age.

I did not visit them much anymore after turning vegan 10 years ago, but since a few years, they also had a few vegan options.

To be fair, the sandwiches are nice, but the vegan versions do not strike me as tasty as the non-vegan versions I used to eat as an omnivore or later as a vegetarian. The only "originally vegan" sandwich I already liked a lot before stopping to eat non vegan products is the "tomato" sandwich, which has not changed in the 4 decades I have known the place.

Add to that the price - a single (small) sandwich now costs € 1.70 - Yes, I am aware that the price of 40 years ago, around 5 Austrian Schillings per sandwich, is very low, compared to now, but considering that I typically ate something like 8-10 sandwiches, plus the "Pfiff" (very small size, 125 ml) of beer, that would come to around 20 Euros, which is a lot for a very small lunch.

Pros: Some vegan options now

Cons: Prices, only 4 vegan options

Good option for a small snack!

I like this shop because you can buy small portions if you're not that hungry, or you can just take more bread rolls, combine different types. The taste is good and the price is quite fair (for airport conditions).
