Really good food at reasonable prices - Edit
I was in the area and this place was recommended to me. Headed for lunchtime and we headed to the counter to order. Staff were busy with prepping and there was a queue but they were efficient so the wait was not too bad.
Read moreI can’t remember what either me or my husband ate now but I do know we both enjoyed our meals.
Would definitely visit again the next time we are over in the area
Pros: Enough vegan options, Good price , Convenient location
Cons: I don’t live nearby

Great spot at the mall - Edit
The vegan tart with whipped cream is so good! I’ve also had a couple of their bowls - the ancient bowl with added tempeh or tofu is excellent, and the Korean bowl is fine. The vegan options are clearly marked all over the menu.

Fast-food ambiance, sit-down prices - Edit
It's sad that the mid-peninsula has so few decent vegan options, and a mall restaurant isn't really my thing. But the birthday celebrant wanted to come here for dinner, and so we did.
Read moreThere are about 6 or 7 vegan options (helpfully noted with a v) and more veg options (veg) but my party was all vegan.
Most v/veg options are in the Bowls/Salad section, plus one pizza, which the birthday boy got. They can also make many of their burgers with faux meat, but we didn't go there.
Service was efficient and pleasant. It's a place that counts on fast turnover. Worst aspect: people working in the kitchen constantly yelling, presumably telling servers to pick up their orders. I don't remember having this happen in the past, so maybe it was one person who won't be there the next time.
Food was...meh and somewhat flavorless. The pizza was ok. The bowls were so so - mine was a noodle dish that allegedly had veggies in the mix but proved to be light on veggies, heavy on noodles. The quinoa bowl had a better balance of items.
I'm sure we'll go back in a few years. Or maybe by then this affluent area, including a big university, will offer more options for vegans.

Good food - Edit
I shared the corn tortilla soup, Korean noodle bowl, spinach and mushroom flat bread, and the ancient grains bowl with a family member. We both liked the ancient grains bowl, the pizza, and the soup, but agreed that the Korean bowl was not that flavorful, it was kind of plain and tasted of smoky sesame seeds and raw pea sprouts— would not recommend. The pizza was delicious, a little oily, but the flavor was there thanks to the browned veggies and lemony almond ricotta that complement the light flavors of the veggies and crispy crust. The soup was packed with smoky cumin but lacked much corn and black beans— it was still delicious though. The ancient grains bowl had great flavor with a creamy herb sauce, but the sweet potatoes were very salty.

True Food Kitchen will always be one of my favorite restaurants, but this location is pricier than the other locations in the bay. They tack on a couple dollars to items... It's still the best option if you're dining in a group with people of varied dietary preferences though, and they don't only give vegan options as an afterthought. They put a lot of effort into their vegan food, so everything I've eaten at True Food is spectacular.

tasty meal! - Edit
They have great vegan options—my favorites are the creamy tomato soup (made with coconut milk!) and the vegan cheeseburger. The service is really friendly, but just a warning that it can get busy on weekends (sometimes up to 45-min wait) so you might want to consider making a reservation.

Hit or miss - Edit
I love love love the ancient grains bowl, but some dishes are bland so beware. It depends on what you get. I mean it all tastes fresh, but if you love flavor like me, make sure you ask for some hot sauce.

Great vegan options clearly marked on the menu - Edit
They are very vegan friendly. For example, when you get the cucumber salad side for a vegan sandwich, they tell you it usually has feta but they’ll take that off to keep the dish vegan.

10/10 recommend - Edit
I was pleased to find a place that had a variety of vegan options, being vegan myself. My mom who isn’t vegan split the artichoke and pesto pizza and that was amazing, but nothing like having their strawberry rhubarb crisp. THAT was to die for! Waitress was also very welcoming. Definitely will come back again.

LOVE! - Edit
This place makes me so happy! When I first came, I had just become vegan, so I was delighted to find a restaurant with tasty dishes labeled vegan! I loved showing my mom how vegan food is just as yummy and flavorful. I had the teriyaki quinoa bowl with avocado, quinoa, broccoli, and other veggies. I also loved that there were vegan desserts.

There a about 5-6 vegan options here. I tried them all and they're all SO GOOD. If you go here, for sure try the butternut squash pizza. It's absolutely my favorite pizza and I even tried to replicate it at home. Also the shiitake mushroom lettuce cups are tasty as well. The staff is friendly. Service can be a bit slow and you might need a reservation if you come in on a Friday/Saturday night.
