Tasty but small portions

We found Torthai on Deliveroo and were impressed with the range of vegan dishes they had in a separate Vegan section. These ranged from curries and noodle dishes to sides and even desserts.

We went for the Vegan Panang Curry with Sticky Rice (you can choose from Sticky, Jasmine or Coconut), Vegan Drunken Noodles, Corn Cakes and Fresh Rolls.

We were ordering with non-vegan family and when the food arrived Torthai had unfortunately forgotten to send one of their rice pots. The pots were also not well labelled and only one of ours had a vegan label on it. Fortunately we were able to figure out what was what but it would’ve been a bit stressful had we ordered more similar dishes.

The food itself was very tasty! The Panang Curry had a great flavour and tasted great with the veggies and rice. However, the curry sauce was very runny and had to be eaten with a spoon. The Drunken Noodles were also very tasty with a nice rich, umami flavour. However I felt both of these dishes were small and not very filling, especially for the price (the Panang was about £15).

The Corn Cakes were super tasty and I could’ve eaten more of them! They were my favourite dish!

I also enjoyed my first bite of the Fresh Roll which was indeed fresh, however it contained cucumber which I don’t like so I didn’t eat the rest. That’s not a criticism though as that’s just my personal taste, I thought the roll was good!

All in all my meal was tasty and enjoyable but the smaller portion sizes did leave me feeling like it wasn’t the best value for the price.
