Nice place not only for cakes and tea

Olsen is a well-known address for cakes, pastries and tea (they have a long list).
Moreover, it’s a good place to have a lunch, since veg options are always present in their menu’.
Yon can have a dish with a single entry, of a mix 2 or 3.

It’s an old-fashioned, but cozy, shop in the city centre. Quite small, with limited number of seats. Few tables on the street during the summer. Usually crowded in the weekend.

Special Old Shop Vibe

It has been a lucky discovery while I was having a stroll in the city center, attracted by the exterior look of the shop i happily discovered this hidden gem! I ordered a slice of a fantastic vegan apple pie and a VEGAN BICERIN ! That's a traditional Turin recipe that looks kind of a cappuccino but with the add of chocholate at the bottom of the mug. It was delicious and i never found another place that serves a vegan version of it. The looks of the shop Is very fascinating, with lots of vintage elements of an old time tea shop/drugstore and classical music playing in the background.

Vegan bicerin (specialty from Turin) and nice pastry

They have vegan bicerin (hot chocolate, coffee and milk foam), which other places do not do. We also had a few pastries there that were good. We wanted to come back for lunch to try their savoury dishes on on their daily menu but didn't manage. Rather small place, with three tables outside. Friendly staff/owners.

La torteria più buona del mondo!!!

È un posto senza tempo, la loro sacher, in tutte le versioni esistenti (classica, bianca, vegana), è imbattibile!!!

Impressive tea menu

This place was very crowded and cramped. I was impressed by their tea menu -- several pages of different teas to choose from. I was less impressed by the vegan selection. They hade three different options that were clearly marked on the menu. We tried two of them and they were good but nothing special.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options, The tea menu

Cons: No English menu, Very crowded

Old-fashioned place with vegan items!

I have to give 5 stars to a longstanding, old-fashioned pastry shop that regularly gives space to vegan items!

When I was there, there were TWO choices! Both were cakes, and I am not entirely sure why, but I gave the chocolate cake a try. I am not a big fan of chocolate cake, so that's why it's odd, and I only found the cake so-so. However, in my inexpert estimation, I would say that it was not so distinguishable from a non-vegan version.

It was something like 3.50€ for a slice, so not exactly cheap, but it was a reasonably big slice.

The place is charming, but tiny, and it was packed, so I did not stay. The counter folks knew English well, and were nice. If I lived in Torino, I would probably make regular stops (though, as a caveat, it would depend on the variety they brought to the vegan items – if it were frequently same the same cakes, my enthusiasm would diminish considerably).

Pros: Charming & old-fashioned, More than one vegan choice

Cons: A bit on expensive side, For me, would depend on how much variety day-to-da

Historical place in Turin

One of the few really longterm places, it has always offered delicious cakes in a nice cosy atmosphere- and is continuing to do so!
