Amazing option for eating with non vegans - Edit
It’s hard to find a place in Japan for social settings as a vegan, because you don’t want to upset someone who isn’t vegan to eat fully vegan. This place is perfect for those kinds of situations. Not only was the vegan food amazing, they’ve also got a small store you can buy snacks and instant food as souvenirs.
Read moreWe got the course menu where I could also choose delicious vegan options while my non vegan friends can have what they wished.
Pros: Plenty vegan options, Great dessert, the pudding and shortcake, Reasonably priced

Came for the Montblanc, left satisfied with the whole meal - Edit
We could not leave Japan without trying a Montblanc, so when we found out that they offered a vegan version of it in Green Italian TORCIA, we immediately made a reservation for dinner. But to our surprise, the entire meal was really enjoyable! We had some pasta and pizza, which were both delicious, and for dessert we obviously had the Montblanc but also the cheesecake.

Vegan Italian Meal at Green Italian TORCIA in Tokyo, Japan - Edit
I would give this place 5 stars if I could! It might seem unusual to find Italian cuisine in Japan, but this restaurant does it fabulously—and at a great price (especially with the yen being quite weak). While it’s not a fully vegan restaurant, there are plenty of exciting vegan options, and none of them are boring. Every dish is unique and interesting. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll be delighted to find a variety of vegan dessert options! Vegan Italian 3 course lunch - Edit
Went here on my bday for the 3 course vegan lunch and was very impressed! Located in a department store, with a really cool market in the basement which is worth checking out. Delicious vegan dessert as well!

Good course menu - Edit
Several vegan options - see menu, can have a set course-menu, also wine pairing. Good if you are with people who want meat. Rather pricey but good service and a bit off the crowds around SJ station. Inside the Isetan department store.

Small portions - Edit
Many vegan choices but the portions are quite small and it is a bit pricey. Plus my pasta was not very flavorful and I was still hungry, might need to try other options.

Tastes nice and the place is nice - Edit
I ordered vegan salad and cold soup for lunch. Tastes good. The salad is large and this size. Maybe the quantity is small. I want a vegan risotto.

Away from the crowd. 喧騒から離れる。 - Edit
It’s located on the food court floor in one of the most known department store in Shinjuku: ISETAN. I visited at noon where most of lunch places in the area require queuing for at least 30 minutes but I didn’t need to wait at all. The atmosphere is pretty quiet and relaxing if you want to get away from the busy Shinjuku crowd for a bit, this is the place for you. Prices are set higher (around ¥2000-3000) for lunch.
Read moreI ordered the lunch course with all vegan options which was brilliant. Veggie parfait with beet and lotus, veggie patty covered in lily root and coffee with soy milk (which was great). I would love to try the dessert next time.
It’s worth a try when you are out with friend looking for a nice place.

Best vegan meal yet - Edit
My husband and I got a set each and halved it so we could try both. We got the soy meat and burger sets- omg that soy meat set is Devine! It's a bit more than usual meals but in my opinion well worth it! The waiters seem a bit more sophisticated than we are used to and not that energetic but a lovely place to eat

Great food, a little pricey, vegan options not marked - Edit
The restaurant is on the top floor of a shopping mall and was full even at almost 3 pm. We had the burger and the fried soy set and the food was all great. It was quite pricey though and for me the big setback is that they have vegan options but they aren't clearly marked on the menu. The staff does speak English and are helpful when you ask.

Classy lunch spot! - Edit
I ordered the soy meat meal set and it was honestly absolutely delicious. Seems like seitan nuggets but there's a touch of ginger, they were just so good, and the salad was delightful, brown rice felt nourishing, and the soup was a kind of basic veggie broth but my little boy really enjoyed it too. I just wasn't really sure where the mayo stuff fitted into the meal, I didn't use much of it. Yes it's probably a slightly pricey option but I felt for the nice atmosphere, service, and the deliciousness of the food it was worth it. I got on fine with limited Japanese - the menu has English translations.

Not so tasty and a bit pricey - Edit
One of the first vegan places I visited in Tokyo. I was quite happy when I tried it, but a few weeks later, it comes out that all the other restaurants I went too had better food and were often cheaper. The atmosphere (I went there for dinner) was also quite sad, with very few customers.

Their desert is something worth trying - Edit
I have known Chaya for a while but I feel they have adapted to accommodate the majority when they increased their fish menu. But their dessert is something worth having. The food overall is decent but can be considered overpriced and small portioned. So please be aware.

one of my old favorites - Edit
I've been coming here for years. The food is good but they also include seafood, so there are a limited number of (clearly marked) vegan options for lunch and dinner. Where they really shine is the desserts. I think they are all excellent. They do great strawberry desserts like cake and parfaits. I like the soy lattes too.
Read moreThey have a little outdoor garden that is really nice in azalea season in particular, around April. It's great to sit out there when the weather is good and really be in a peaceful and secluded place in Tokyo.
They sell their Chaya Macrobiotics brand products here as well. I recently picked up a freshly made scone and a strawberry shortcake cookie.
The staff understands veganism perfectly. The atmosphere is nice and upscale.
The building is convenient for shopping as there's also a grocery in the basement that sells organic cosmetics and vegan foods.
Pros: beautiful garden, lovely desserts , classy atmosphere
Cons: not a ton of vegan main options for lunch/dinner
