Delicious, creative food and fantastic service

It's such a luxury to order from a large, all-vegan menu, and Tofu Vegan did not disappoint, with a creative variety of dishes that impressed us across the board and felt uniquely Chinese. We would happily order every dish again, but that would be a happy challenge, because we'd also like to try everything else on the menu.

We had the Chengdu vegetable dumplings (menu item #8), wontons in house special sauce (#47), fried tofu in black bean sauce (#19), and gong bao king o'ster mushrooms (#24), as well as the sesame rolls with red bean paste (#67). Everything was delicious - the tofu in black bean sauce was our favorite.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, asking about our tastes and making recommendations from the menu. Their passion showed, and it was clear that they were delighted to delight us.

The only downside was the relatively small portions for the price, but this was not egregious given the upscale cuisine and the central London location.

Overall, we would look forward to eating at Tofu Vegan again.

The food is superb band the dumplings are a work of art from a fictional land. I will be back soon for everything on the menu 😂

Solid Chinese food

It's Sichuanese food done well. In a city where a lot of the food lacks flavor, this one delivers. Very happy with the experience.

Loved loved loved the experience

I’d been to their Islington location on a previous visit and remembered it being good. I knew I wanted to come back and I’m very happy I did. Staff, food, service, the place itself; everything gets a 10/10 from me. Will be visiting again every time I’m in London.

Brilliant flavours and almost too much choice!

The waitress recommended a beautiful selection of dishes that went really well together thank god, we were really struggling to choose from such a wide selection. It was the perfect amount and a taste sensation! She was really kind and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and the atmosphere great.

Pros: Huge selection of 100% vegan dishes , Amazing flavours , Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful restaurant

Delicious

Really tasty food and a lovely environment.

Highlights for us were the salt and pepper fried tofu, the mushroom buns, wantons and peking duck.

I would definitely recommend visiting.

Solid vegan spot ideal for tofu sceptics!

This was my second time visiting and will definitely be returning. We particularly enjoyed the wontons, special fried ho fun noodles, and the kimchi tofu stew! Atmosphere is really calm and super nice decor, with friendly and attentive staff.

Only reason for not giving 5 stars would be that personally some items did not quite hit the spot for me. The deep fried asparagus I was sure would be a winner but I didn't find that they blew me away for the price. And the noodle portion was a little on the small side I thought.

I short, if you order the right items you're in for an incredible food experience!

Pros: Warm atmosphere, Wontons, dumplings, and noodles, Professional staff

Cons: Portion sizes of some items, Price of some smaller items

非常好吃!

We started with the chefs recommended 油泼云吞 (killer spicy sauce!) & 红油水饺 (our favourite) for dumplings. The for the mains, 铁板黑椒杏鲍菇 (perfect sticky oysters mushrooms) 大厨手豆花 (if you love silken tofu) with unlimited bowls of rice. The waiters were super lovely & the restaurant had a great vibe!

Pros: 红油水饺, 无限米饭

Great service, mixed emotions

In summary, while the service was fantastic, the food itself fell short of my hopes. The dishes were often much spicier than expected, even those marked as mild, which was challenging for my son. The non-spicy options lacked flavor, making them a bit bland for my taste. Overall, the culinary experience didn't quite match the high expectations set by the reviews. But hey… maybe too spicy for me it not spicy enough for you ☺️

Amazing authentic Chinese food

Well that’s the headline and what my friend I went with, who’s Chinese so I’ll buy into that. Had the fish soup thing, dim sum, spinach and bean and the pumpkin 🎃 dessert. Wow. Wow. Definitely worth another visit. I want to try everything

Pros: Amazing choice, Great service , Something really different

Cons: None

Flavour 5/5 Portion and price 2/5

We had an early dinner at 4.30, so service was good as restaurant wasn’t too busy - all staff very friendly. We had a couple of dishes to share, but have to say disappointed with the portion size, the waiter recommended some dishes to share, but the fake fish and buns for example, only 3 tiny buns even though this is “for sharing” couldn’t put one more?

I know it’s central London, but for the price and the tiny portion - even though the taste was very good, I wouldn’t return. I want better value for money and lots of other great alternatives in London.

Pros: Taste , Quality , Service

Cons: Price , Portion size

I've heard this feedback about portion size at the Charlotte branch a lot. Portions are usually generous at the other Tofu vegan locations, but it seems that the central London one serves small portions... If you like the food, I'd recommend trying the other locations (Islington or Spitafields)

Pretty good

Tbh not the best vegan Chinese food we found in West London, but still reeeeally good. Fair prices, but the dishes are bit smaller than expected.
Service was nice but a bit chaotic

Great food, chaotic service

The food was great as always. Tofu vegan always deliver on taste. However our food came out in dribs and drabs and there was some confusion about which foods contained which ingredients as there were different intolerances on our table. We also got presented with two dishes we didn’t order and they had to go back to the kitchen to discover which table they were meant for. All of this made it a slightly stressful experience trying to make sure we got all the right dishes and were eating what we asked for.

The portions were also noticeably smaller than they have been at other venues, but it was tasty as always and hopefully these are all teething issues. I’m glad they’re doing so well.

Thank You Tofu Vegan 🌱

We went there to eat after an event with around 35 people and it was wonderful. We ate so many different dishes and everybody was happy and satisfied. The chef's recommendations were great, he knows well 👍🏼 We didn't took pictures but we can 100% recommend to go there ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hit and miss

Lovely ambience and attentive staff
Outside seating available
Big menu - same as other branches
Dumpling selection were amazing! Great mix and perfectly flavoured (except for lack of salt) and well steamed.
Szechuan chicken was really disappointing. For 15£ you get a few pieces of chicken. Looks big because 85% or more of this dish is just deep fried dried chilli. Chicken itself is had a weird crumb layer and over all texture. Nothing worth ordering
Both dishes arrived hot. SC is added automatically.
5 stars for dumplings, 2.5 for chicken

Pros: Dumplings , Location and interior

Cons: Chicken
