Serves meat, vegan options available. Roast restaurant & pub chain - be warned that it's a carvery and is primarily meat-centered, but there will be vegan menu options, which may vary from season to season. Sample vegan choices might be an allotment pie, vegetable roast, grilled aubergine stack, and/or mushroom tart. Or you could order a few sides to make a full meal, like choosing the roast potatoes, stuffing, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, mint sauce, etc. Help yourself to vegetables from the carvery next to the meat: will provide non-buttered veggies on request. Open Mon-Fri 11:30-22:00, Sat-Sun 08:30-22:00.

Pies are Good - Edit
So if you know how the carvery works, it's great for someone who loves to a huge amount. As a vegan you have a couple of roast options. You can either choose the meat free carvery, where you can have the stuffing, roast potatoes and all the other veg. Obviously this is a reduced price from the meat carvery. You can go up as many times as you like. Alternatively there are a couple of pies for vegans including a mushroom and ale pie. Then you go and help yourself from the same stuff as the meat free carvery.
Read moreThe problem is that the pie is not served with anything so you have to get stuff from the carvery and you might feel a little nervous about all the plates of meat being held over the veg dishes and people using the same spoons to put their veggies on to their meat ladened dishes. I know I did.
The major drawback on my visit was that there was no vegan gravy. Unsure if they'd just run out or if they no longer serve it. Baffled as to what the vegetarian gravy contains that isn't vegan. My dinner was pretty dry without gravy.
Kids under two get a free 'baby bowl' carvery. If your kid is 'around two' just say they're under two.. Of course I didn't do that. ;)
It wasn't really clear which of the stuff on the carvery is vegan. You have to sort of work it out from just looking at what's there. Not too hard in some cases such as the steamed veg but there was lots more questionable stuff like the onions.
I really hope there is vegan gravy next time as the lack of it kind of ruined the meal for me.
You do get a lot of food for a low price.
