Lots of vegan lunch/breakfast options - Edit
We went here twice for lunch, had the tofu scramble one day, the chick pea omelette another. Both very tasty with plenty of veg. Was going back to have the vegan brekkie another day but only drinks on offer. A great location in a building just back from the beach with 2 other places also doing vegan food. Nice oat milk cappuccino.

One of the only solid vegan breakfast options around, but I would still come here even if there were others. Many options, and the food is made fresh in house. The only downside to that is that sometimes it varies a bit (for example once the vegan sausage was mostly lentils, a couple days later it was mostly beetroot). The nachos are great and were a favorite — the homemade nacho cheese is unique and delicious. Great spot.

the peanut butter & banana toast was very filling and the peanut butter tasted very natural. it could definitely be shared between 2 with a little side of fresh fruit (which was also very good). The avocado on toast was good too, very fresh and the tomatoes were nicely roasted. The egg omelette was quite small but all and all it was a pleasant experience! would definitely recommend for vegans!

We went here twice during our stay. The first time I had scrambled eggs on spelt toast. The second time I had the açai orignal, definatly recommend the açai orignal! Nice cappuccino with oatmilk as well.

Great little spot, but was very disappointed with the speed of service. Drinks took about 10 mins and our loaded toasts while filling and tasty, took 25 mins to arrive and the toast itself wasn't even luke warm

A beautiful sunny spot with a great view of the beach (even if the neighbouring hotel pool is a bit loud!). Very healthy, maybe too healthy 😂 . I had the Vegan full breakfast which was good. It had a "sausage" which was more like a beetroot burger mix in a different shape - very crumbly. I also had the frozen coffee cubes which I'd highly recommend. We had the banana bread and a brownie for lunch but they were both a bit dry/claggy

Read moreThough I was really looking forward to going here I was disappointed. Might be due to personal preference and food intolerances, but still.
First disappointment came when they were unexpectedly (No mention of it on facebook or their website) closed for pretty much all but the last 3 days of my stay (this is how I ended up at Buena Vida Vegan, so lucky accident I guess). When I finally was able to eat here the food was not what I hoped it was.
I ordered the cauliflower wings but the outer layer was rather tasteless and a bit leathery. The glaze was nice but too little for the whole dish and the coriander dip was served in a small shot-like glass which the wings did not fit in at all. I had to scoop out the coriander dip with a tiny fork...
The polenta sticks felt greasy and lacked taste as well, and these too weren't crispy the way you'd expect them to be.
The special iced coffee was okay, fun way of serving and tasted well enough but just nothing special imo.
I also ordered some sweets to take home, but found out they were made with Stevia or alike which my body does not react well to. So I didn't finish most of the sweets sadly.
To be fair, having had the privilege of eating at Buena Vida Vegan for most of my stay nothing is going to be able to even come close, and everything will disappoint to some extent... 😉
Ambience is not really existent. Its spacious but really boring inside, though they do have a big terrace overlooking the beach and ocean.
They also have Tierra the Store, which is in a separate opposite building where they sell all sorts of vegan and vegetarian products. I planned to do most of my groceries shopping here but the store remained closed the whole time so I have no idea of their produce and price-range etc.
Pros: Vegan Options, Kind and laid back staff
Cons: Ambience, Food tasted bland, Closed for a couple weeks without notice

I went to this restaurant almost daily, with different varieties of food. The food is freshly prepared. Great presentation and taste. My favourite was the Mexican burger.

Veggie but has good vegan options for all the dishes. Really good coffee, smoothies and breakfast options (Banana on toast was 10 out of 10). Open from 9 when most other vegan option places open at lunchtime.

Read moreHot chocolate was nothing to rave about, in fact was pretty terrible, would not get it again, just tasted like water but the food made up for this, absolutely gorgeous and big portions, not pricey either. Staff are lovely and setting is nice, outdoor seating.
We had a bagel with scrambled tofu, beans and a sausage (just made my own meal) and we had a chickpea omelette. Really tasty, quite oily but still felt healthy.
Would return. Would be nice to see the egg and cheese dropped from the menu.
Great dessert options, ALL vegan.
