Tibits suffers from same thing than so many vegetarian and non vegetarian restaurants in Zurich - lack of competition.
Read moreFood is medicore quality targeted mostly to meat eaters while the price is on high-end premium.
Dont get me wrong, food is not bad and selections is wide enough for everyone to find something to eat but do you get your moneys worth or feel that the food is especially healthy - no way.
For the price you pay, everything should be bio, selection should be wider and there should be much more healthy options.

Delicious, fresh and nourishing vegan dishes! - Edit
So happy to have gone to this buffet place where most of the dishes are vegan! Everything was really tasty and there was a really good spread of veggies! Could do with some more proteins (I only found tofu) but overall, such a lovely meal!

Definitely need to try this if you are in Switzerland! Buffet, pay by weight. Also things you can buy at the counter like pastries. Best cheesecake (from buffet) that I’ve ever had in my life. (I’ve had a LOT of cheesecake). Good food but we went too many times and they didn’t change up the menu so we got tired of it. Good pasta. Not everything vegan(?) but everything is clearly marked (in English too)

Every food item is wonderful. Huge buffet! Vegan, gluten-free, and spicy items are marked. Ingredients are in German and English, just flip over the cards.

Most dishes are vegan, but regular cheese & cottage cheese are available. If your group has some vegans and some lacto-vegetarians, everyone will leave with a smile!
Staff speak English and are very helpful. Great location by the opera house.

This is very similar to Hiltl - put your food on a plate/box from a buffet and then pay by weight. I got quite a lot and it came to 42 franc. Very tasty and good. The seats suggest they don’t want you in there very long

Love Tibits! - Edit
My third or fourth time eating at Tibits and it's always great. There's a nice variety of different dishes, the prices aren't crazy by Switzerland standards, and you can get a free bread roll! Not to mention some great desserts. I love that it seems (maybe?) as though they're phasing out more vegetarian dishes for more and more vegan dishes?

Tolles Restaurantkonzept mit unkompliziertem und feinem Buffet. Probiere mich meistens durchs ganze Angebot und bin immer begeistert. Nicht nur bietet das Tibits eine riesengrosse Auswahl an, sondern sind die Speisen auch immer richtig lecker. Das Mangomousse vom Dessertbuffet ist himmlisch - mein absoluter Favorit! Ein kleiner Stern Abzug da hin und wieder einzelne Speisen etwas trocken sind (durchs Warmhalten) und weil nicht alles vegan ist. Dafür sind auch meine nicht-veganen Begleitungen immer begeistert vom Angebot😉

Tasty pay-by-weight takeaway but it is expensive! - Edit
Apparently pay-by-weight buffets are common in Switzerland, but it was new to us! You can either use a plate and eat-in, buy a reusable container (for a discount on food next time) or take a recyclable, cardboard tray for takeaway.
Read moreEverything is clearly labelled if it is vegan and there were lots of options (with serving trays being replaced or refilled regularly). There was great variety - from cold couscous salads to deep-fried cauliflower wings to hot pasta dishes to sweet potato wedges - and everything was very tasty.
Whilst busy, we didn’t really have to queue and were out and eating within 10 minutes.
However, it is rather expensive. Compared to a formal restaurant in Zurich, it’s definitely good value, but we paid about 35chf for the two of us.

This place had a lot of options, we chose a bunch of different scoops of dishes but mostly cold food items including - an edamame pasta, a tofu scramble, fruit, and cold quinoa oatmeal. Some hot items we got were a potato dish and sausage. We got a tahini brownie for dessert which was good. In theory all the dishes looked good, but we found only the oatmeal and the warm potato and sausage link to be good. Everything else was pretty bad, so we would recommend sticking with the hot foods.

In our opinion, we were shocked when we brought up only one dish with small scoops of a couple items and it was 30CHF - which is insane and with the taste of the food, this place, in our opinion, was not worth it. Perhaps trying more of the warm dishes, but be prepared to be shocked by the price when they weigh it at the end. We prefer to know how much our meal will cost before we check out.
