Veggie Bowl the Bomb! - Edit
Stopped here for breakfast while traveling. I had the Veggie Bowl, and it was absolutely perfect. Fresh, tasty, and filling. Best I've had. Also had a good banana mocha smoothie.

Good meal, slow service, blah atmosphere - Edit
Good selection of vegan options, all well spelled out on the menu boards; they even distinguish between vegan and plant based but not vegan (because of refined sugar). My curried chic peas were great, the vegan naan it was served on was so-so, and it took about 20 minutes to get my order. Will eat here again, but next time I’ll order online for take out.

Perfect spot for breakfast and lunch. Got the power bowl and veggie bowl… Tahini sauce is great. Would highly recommend trying their homemade tea (ginger and turmeric) They have premade takeout options in their deli fridge.

Worth the trip - Edit
Casual eatery. Food was very tasty, organic and reasonably price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Join their club and you get $5 off first order and many coupons and promotions. I bought three prepared meals and got the fourth one free. Everything was really flavorful. The only criticism I have is that the coconut rice did not taste like coconut and was bland as was the brown basmati rice. Some desserts were homemade and were also excellent. They make some of the drinks. I tried the ginger iced tea, turmeric with black pepper and the turmeric latte which were all great.

Vegan choices - Edit
We had dinner here. I had the vegetable curry from the hot table along with brown rice. We also had the veggie burger. The curry was fine. The burger, with quinoa, was mushy. Service was friendly. The place was very neat. There were a lot of vegan desserts which we didn't have a chance to try. A fine place to eat.

Be Careful - Edit
Food was okay- my salad had a TON of oil in it. They’ll also serve vegan baked treats which is awesome but they’ll serve it to you on beeswax paper- so ask for the treats without!!

Excellent food & Service - Edit
Had a late Saturday breakfast with my family for the first time at this location. We went for the vegan options and healthy food. They serve breakfast even after 1pm. My wife and I had the avocado toast on their sourdough bread with a side of breakfast potatoes. My wife and I agreed that the guacamole on the toast was to lemony but otherwise tasty with the alfalfa sprouts on top. The kids had grilled cheese sandwiches and bacon, egg & cheese sandwich all in their sourdough bread. A little different than what they are used to but they enjoyed it. They have various coffee/latte options and all can also be made with plant base milks. They’re good selections are all healthy and look delicious. The location is small and cosy, feels like a mom & pop restaurant. The staff is very friendly. My wife & I will be returning.

Total Gem!!! - Edit
New to the area and Recently started my journey into vegetarianism. So it's been a bit overwhelming. I stumbled upon this place while trying a new hair salon next door. Anyway, all this to say that True Food is great. I tried several of there dishes and they have all been amazing! My favorite is the Brussels sprout & Kale salad. Also although I am vegetarian they offered other options for the members of my family that aren't and for those who are gluten free.

True Food - Edit
I went to True Food on my birthday with my mom for lunch. I am a vegan and my mom is mostly vegetarian. I ordered the kimchi tofu on a bed of mesclun, a kombuchca, and a vegan cranberry scone. My mom ordered a breakfast wrap. When the server learned it was birthday, he offered me a free cup of coffee which was nice!
Read moreMy kimchi tofu was delicious and my mom enjoyed her wrap. I've had baked goods at True Foods before and loved them, but this time my scone seemed like it was maybe a day or two old.

So great for vegans. The hot food bar is great, but my fave is the Southwestern wrap with no cheese. Also keep an eye out for vegan baked goodies!

I don't have much to add that the last rave review didn't say. I love the variety of their hot bar, and their kale-pecan veggie burger is pretty darn amazing. You can get a healthy, filling, and tasty meal here. It can add up, though, especially the hot bar. True, not much vegan variety in the baked goods, but they do have interesting date rolls and things like that if you have a sweet tooth.

Cons: a bit pricey, could have more vegan baked goods

TRUE FOOD is True Love - Edit
Stumbled on this gem one day boppin' around Nyack. As a vegan, I was very pleased to see so many hot vegan lunch options, i.e. rich, hearty, healthy, vegetable stews (chock full of carrots, sweet potatoes, eggplant, cauliflower, kale, peas, etc), ultra tasty grains, beans and legumes, and out of this world soups (e.g., ginger carrot), all maxed out w ingredients that are as fresh as "humanly" possible.. lots of nice asian spices, curries, lots of ginger, garlic, never too spicy though which i like (cuz i like to taste the ingredients). They also make a tofu breakfast wrap which is yumm. Their cold drinks are carefully chosen and it is here where I discovered the genius that is Fentimans Dandelion & Burdock - a botanically brewed carbonated soda infused with dandelion leaves & burdock root, sweetened with pear juice, and spiced with a touch of ginger anise. The only thing blatantly missing was a variety of vegan desserts (only thing i saw was one vegan scone and not a huge sconehead) and of course i would like to see them sell much, much less meat and dairy. Anyone who does vegan this exceptional, needs to go all vegan in my opinion. Build it and they will come. I went back 5 out of the next 7 days. I met the owner/chef and she is lovely. Eat here asap!!!

Organic Makes for awesome, fresh, and delicious food. A chicken, and veggie entree menu changed daily. Homemade chai and other teas and soups. The burritos are incredible. I highly recommend this place, if nothing else to support a great cause for progressive food ideas.
