Good food

The food is nice but not a great choice for vegans, we had vegan buttermilk burgers which were yummy but I had to ask for extra satay sauce because I couldn’t taste it!
The other choices were pesto pasta and a blue cheese salad.

Outstanding food

Outstanding delivery from here this evening. We had Hoisin Quackless Flatbread with Lettuce, Cucumber, Spring Onion, Cooked Red Cabbage, Coriander and Hoisin Sauce with Chips. A Hoisin Quackless Burger with the same fillings as the Flatbread with Chips.
Superb food, the Flatbread was huge! Enough for 2 with Chips.
The system only allows 4 stars, as 5 are reserved for Vegan only places. But its a 5* from us. #Veganuary

Good find!

Nice pub restaurant with both a larger modern area and a traditional cosy snug area with a smaller number of tables. Had the gnocchi beetroot and wild mushrooms - really very filling - the veggie version has Parmesan which they just leave off for the vegan option, do feel it’s slightly lacking something by doing that, but it’s okay. They have a good range of vegan options on the menu, and the special menu even included a vegan dish, which sounded really good actually. After we ‘forced ourselves’ to have the salted caramel cake, which is served with vegan cream - that is really very moorish and I don’t recommend sharing it!

Why only 3 stars? Obviously they lose one star for being omni. The other star, the gnocchi seemed bland to me and with so many vegan cheeses, Parmesan alternatives and other options I feel they could make it equal to the veggie version. They also don’t have vegan ice cream, which seems a notable missed opportunity to make the menu experience more equal. So there’s room for improvement, but it is a nice venue with a good range of options on the menu, friendly and attentive staff, and I’m gonna be coming back here for sure…
