All this and books, too - Edit

We stopped here on the way back from Hay, mainly because the Old Electric Shop in Hay was onoy serving cakes (this was a Saturday lunchtime). We were pleased to see a lot of vegan and vegetarian items on the menu, and when our food arrived the portions were huge (and very tasty).

Just to make it feel a bit like Hay, the Strand is also a second-hand bookshop, so it was quite hard to drag me away. Oh, and there were dozens of red kites in the sky: this really is wild Wales round here.

Pros: Huge portions, Simple, tasty food, Excellent value for money

lovely little eatery with fair prices - Edit

I liked the interior a lot - many things to discover. I had the vegan cottage pie and the portion size was great and really enough as a main meal. The staff was very friendly. The Café was very clean and had soem anti-covid-measures in place. It seemed that the Strand also has a catering service.

Pros: friendly atmosphere, good portion sizes

Cons: vegan menu could be bigger
