Serves meat, vegan options available. General store and cafe just outside of the city on the main road to Akaroa. Offers vegan high tea which MUST be booked in advance. Aside from the high tea not much else is vegan aside from ice cream, brownies, smoothies, bliss balls and a couple more small items. Also sells some vegan and gluten free products in the store. Open Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm, Sat-Sun 8:30am-4:30pm.

Why is this on happy cow? - Edit
Yet another place that someone once stumbled across a vegan option at and added to Happy Cow. Can we have some editorial standards applied? Having soy milk doesn't mean it should be listed here.

A great high tea - Edit
I discovered these guys do a Vegan High Tea right here on Happy Cow!! The review was from 2020 so I asked The Store if they still do them and yes they do!!! They have a couple of price options, standard (with tea, coffee or OJ) or with bubbles (unsure if that’s as well as or instead of the other drink options). You can book and just decide if you’re doing bubbles on the day, as I did for a surprise high tea :)

We were really impressed with the high tea content - the savoury and sweet options were both great, as was the coffee! The service was also great, from multiple staff.
The down sides are the road noise if you're outside, the high tea is lovely but pricey and, apart from the high tea, they only have limited cabinet food (I asked them for more info, but was only advised re the cabinet food).

Lovely vegan high tea - Edit
I brought my staff here for our Xmas do - we came for the high tea with bubbles. It was lovely and enjoyed by both the vegans and non-vegans on the team. We had polenta croquettes, a slider, potato ball, club sandwich plus fancy sweet treats. We booked in advanced.
