My friend and I have eaten here about four times in the past several months. The food has always been very substandard but the location is convenient and so we put up with the terrible food. After eating our food and drinking the first round of drinks, we were presented TWICE with the incorrect second round after paying for it. When my friend complained, he was not offered a refund or explanation and the staff member that got the order wrong admitted he wasn’t sure what was ordered. At this point three staff (the manager and two others including the person that got the order wrong) said we either BUY ANOTHER ROUND! Even though we had not received the second round at all that had already been paid for or leave the premises. They then said if we didn’t leave they would call the police! We were not swearing or being aggressive as it is a family pub. We stated that we would leave if we got a refund for the drinks that we had paid for but didn’t receive but the manager started to call the police!!! This seemed like a hugely unnecessary step at this point as we were not being at all abusive! He then said ‘IF THEY ATTEMP TO LEAVE GET THEIR NUMBER PLATES’. How can they be asking us to leave and then threaten to get our number plates if we do? What story would they tell to the police? Would the police turn up at my doorstep if we had left? Remember this is whilst still owing us money for goods not received! I started filming the incident as it unfolded out of incredulity. The manager turned round and PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED ME! He grabbed my wrists and then stole my phone from my hands. He was shouting directly into my face. I got my phone back from him but after leaving the premises my friend and I waited for six and a half hours for the police to arrive but they were too busy to attend. I contacted them and explained our side of this situation as we believed the manager could have said anything to them about us! I did not press assault charges when the police called me the following day as I do not wish to ruin the managers life for his stupid and outrageous behaviour. Instead I am opting to inform everybody what a terrible establishment this is due to the ignorance and ambivalence of the staff. We were humiliated in public and felt very upset and threatened not to mention was physically assaulted and had our night ruined from five PM to half past eleven at night Waiting in the cold car park for police to attend.
