Great lunch spot

The vegan soup of the day (seemingly only ever one) was spiced pumpkin soup. Very tasty!

Delicious!

Lovely local cafe/restaurant specialising (as the name suggests) in different soups. Normally 4-5 flavours, with at least one vegan option and another veggie option. While that may seem like not much choice, this is small town Iceland, so even having a veggie option - let alone a vegan one - is great!!

I had the vegan Indian Winter spicey soup which was lovely - just the right amount of spiceyness to keep you warm on a cold Icelandic day. I also had a sample of my friend's creamy mushroom soup and that was equally tasty.

It is one of the cheapest places to eat in Vik, only around 1600kr per soup, and they don't stint on the portion sizes - good big bowls and unlimited bread, plus butter, but I didn't seen a non-dairy butter (this can be difficult to get hold of in rural Iceland though - e.g. even though the supermarket Vik has oat, almond, and rice milk, they don't have any non-dairy margarine/butter/spread).

They also have specials like pasta dishes or panini/salad offerings, and desserts are mainly just what they decide to make on the day. I had a lovely chocolate cake.

Selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks plus coffees and an excellent hot chocolate.

The building is also home to the Icelandic Lava Show so you can check that out too.

Pros: Tasty, Excellent value

Cons: Maybe only one vegan option
