Only One Kind Of Option

Venue dark, and service mediocre. Food, as a vegan there was only one option kind of. Vegetarian has a couple of choices. Food ordinary. Cost at least was reasonable.

Pros: hmmm ... bean dip with chips

Cons: Chips greasy, dark venue, food

Vegan Mexican Paradise

Okay, so Salsa's is known for being one of the best non-veg Mexican restaurants in east tn, but with a few tweaks and a couple requests, it is also one of the best veg-friendly Mexican places!
Salsa's has a clearly marked Vegetarian section in their menu that includes everything from chimichangas to burritos to taco salads to nachos. Most dishes come with cheese, but if you ask for no cheese they are more than happy to accommodate. Even ordering over the phone for take out, they have never messed up my order and put cheese.
YOU MUST TRY THE VEG CHIMICHANGA!!! It is amazing! It comes with grilled peppers, onions, and tomatoes, (but they will add zucchini on request). Just be sure to tell them no cheese at all. Seriously though, it doesn't need the cheese, the flavor is outstanding. It also comes with Mexican fried rice and a shredded lettuce and tomato salad topped with fresh avocado YUM!
They also have a neat self-serve salsa bar with plenty of options depending on your personal preference. Lots of choices from mild to spicy. Going back to the chimichanga, I love to mix the fresh sweet & sour grape tomatillo salsa with the mango onion salsa and pour on top of my chimichanga, the mix of flavor complements the dish so well!
As for the service, super friendly staff and pretty clean place with a nice, authentic Mexican vibe. They also usually have sports on a couple flat-screen TVs if you want to chow down and watch the game. Sometimes they get a little busy, but if you have to wait a little it is totally worth it! 100% Recommended by this Mexican-loving vegan.

Pros: Fresh Salsa Bar, Friendly Staff, Separate Veg-friendly menu section

Cons: sometimes busy, closed on Mondays
