Best Vegan Omelette! - Edit
This is an outstanding place in so many ways! The staff are very friendly, it is a relaxing environment and the food is fantastic! Maria recommended the Spinach omelet which, I have to say, is the best I have ever had! The green juice was fresh and wonderful and the coffee was perfect. Don’t miss eating here if you are staying in the area!

Came down for a quick little dive trip for the Cenotes. Staying at the Reef at Coco Beach. Had we known about you guys, we would have been there every morning!!! Absolutely amazing food!!! We will be back for sure next time we are here!!!

For me, The Pitted Date is more than just a vegan eatery or cafe. It is a sanctuary of sorts, a cruelty free nook neatly tucked away on 26 calle, a place where I can go to unwind, write and dream of next adventures. It is the perfect little spot for freelance workers and digital nomads looking for a slice of home (and amazing vegan eats) while abroad. As a long time frequenter of this establishment, I can honestly say that a whole lot of love and intention goes into everything at The Pitted Date. Head chef and owner Emma loves what she does and believes in what she does (as does her partner and business owner, Oscar) and this translates to the plate. The chocolate cake is a must try (and pairs beautifully with an almond mylk latte), the breakfast burrito is the perfect post workout meal, and the mantra salad will have you omming out the door to your evening yoga class. Whether vegan, vegetarian, omnivore or raw foodie, you really have to experience a slice of this vegan love for yourself!

This little spot has a quaint outdoor seating area and serves up some wonderful vegan snack foods & kombucha/juices. We also took a couple "power bars" to go and enjoyed them later. Friendly staff & a great selection.

Read moreThey make this "omelet" from tofu and some kind of chick pea flour + nutritional yeast that taste just like the best omelet in the world, adding caramelized onion, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in it... and it's breakfast paradise!!!
Price are ok. not too cheap, not too much.
we also had a panini that was fabulous and their Kombucha his tasty and just light enough. Kind staff, sweet location and friendly customers both times we went there.

I had the mushroom panini with a vegan egg base instead of the lentil patty (they were out). It was pretty amazing, basically perfect. If I had to complain, it's that their prices - 135 pesos for an a la carte panini - are significantly higher than the other 5 veggie places I've been to in the area.

What a find in Playa del Carmen. They have breakfast all day, plus daily specials. The breakfast burrito is terrific, made with the vegan egg, quinoa, black beans, cashew cream, wrapped in a tortilla, and slathered with guacamole and salsa. At least 10 mostly raw desserts on offer, plus incredible chocolate and regular croissants that they have brought in from a local baker. Homemade nut milks and very delicious juices too.

The food here is AMAZING! a little pricey because it is close to the touristy fifth avenue but definitely worth it. The two owners are super nice and friendly. I loved my overall experience. Could not recommend this place more. Their croissants are out of this world.

Very unique dishes. I come here a lot. I have had the burrito which is loaded with quinoa, beans and housemade cashew cream cheese, and some other stuff- i am not a big fan of quinoa, but i loved this burrito...like everything else on the menu it is so well made and so different from any burrito i ever had that i definitely appreciated it.
Read moreThe ciabatta sandwiches (particularly the veggie extreme sandwich with the lentil patty) has to be the best vegan sandwich i have ever had. the bread was so tasty. the lentil patty is the best i have ever had in terms of taste and texture- on some days, it almost had a kinda crumbly, lean ground beef type of consistency to it. just amazing. i have also tried the egg croissant sandwich , which was really good.
The desserts are very pricey IMO. I have only tried the chocolate cake , which is 110 peso..but the portion size is generous. however the mini pies and cupcakes range in price from 70 to 100+pesos...and they are really small.
Pros: Amazing, Unique food., Super friendly owners, cooks and waiters, Perfect Service. Clean. Great ambience, great Wifi

What a gem in the middle of Playa Del Carmen. Was not expecting a totally vegan place at all (not to mention one with such love and care put into all the food). Emma the owner puts so much detail and pride into what she serves, that hard to find in any establishment. You can tell she works hard and really gives a damn. And you gotta try their peanut butter cup. Epic. No words.

What more can you ask for than a Vegan BAKERY? Playa del Carmen and overall the Riviera Maya is becoming VERY veggie friendly, more and more dedicated vegetarian and Vegan places are opening. So good to see this place does not simply open "yet another" Vegan restaurant but brings a complete new concept with a 100% Vegan bakery and cafe. very nice setting, clean and classy furnishing/decoration, very good cakes. What is interesting to mention is that the majority of their cakes are raw. Very tasty and due to raw ingredients you can immediately notice the quality of the ingredients, although because of that prices tend to be on the high side.

Great change from the sameness of a lot of the places around. Was mainly raw desserts at first, but now has baked goods (the cinnamon roles are amazing), soups, salads, paninis (so good) and recently: breakfast!
