One of my favourite places in Playa del Carmen, tried I few different things on their menu and they have a good variety of options (healthy and comfort foods). Best thing I had was the Chorizo sandwich, it’s just so good.

La verdad es que alguna vez el Pitted Date fue de mis lugares favoritos, pero durante mucho tiempo el servicio, la calidad y todo fue decayendo. Le he dado muchísimas oportunidades y siempre salen con algo. En mis ultimas visitas han cambiado de receta sus mejores platillos, el servicio es malo, el café sabe a agua de calcetín y hoy fui y estaba cerrado antes de su horario de cierre.

Amazing Vegan Breakfast - Edit
It was a long walk from our hotel but the reviews were all good and I really wanted a yummy vegan breakfast while on vacation. It was worth the walk! The juices were so fresh and delicious. The food was wonderful. We had eggs and greens, and waffles. Everything was so good!! We would definitely go back.

The Pitted Date is a fully vegan restaurant just outside the main tourist area on a quiet street surrounded by newer condos.

It was a piece of brioche bread, vegan egg, and spinach. It cost 169 pesos.
We also shared the Croque Monsieur which cost 219 pesos. It was bread slathered with vegan egg and cheese It was good but we both preferred the eggs and greens.

This is noted as the best vegan spot in PDC and it’s definitely up there! They are truly unique with their dishes, which I love. The portions are much bigger than I expected too, so you won’t leave hungry for sure.
Read moreNot knowing the size I ordered two dishes- the Croque Monsieur, which was a cheese and bechamel sandwich I don’t even know how to properly describe, but it was great! I also had the Savoury Crepe which was healthier and good, but not wow.
Overall it was a great dining experience worth trying again to see how the rest of their menu stacks up.

Of restaurants nowadays, the ones that care about service/quality and the ones that care more about presentation/the gram. I think this place belongs to the latter. Aside from the presentation of the dish and the interior I couldn't pick much else as positive.

For a place described as vegan bakery, they had not even one baked item available to order. A cafe which cannot prepare coffee without spoiling it. Place was empty, we only ordered coffee and cupcake. One coffee didn't arrive because they forgot and something described as cupcake was actually raw cake full of sugar. Presentation was nice but it's just looks. Very distracted service too. Shame places like this come up as "top rated"

same goes for the drinks.
the prices are bit higher than in other restaurants but totally worth the quality of the food and overall the restaurant.
the venue has a masculine vibe to it with lots of dark wood, metall and black walls, everything looks stylish.
the staff is very attentive but not in an annoying way and friendly!

I’ve eaten here at Pitted Date before, this trip I have to say they have gone downhill. First of all, the AC doesn’t work & they do not seem to be in a hurry to fix it. I asked. So we’re sitting outside now. It’s obviously MORE hot but inside is way hotter with no air flow. How are people supposed to enjoy a meal when they are sweating their life away? Now that we’re sitting outside & uncomfortable, I don’t even think we’re gonna eat here. Service is shot to hell. No functioning air conditioning. & the vibe is just off. Disappointment. It used to be so much better here.

I got the sausage wrap which was delicious!! I loved how flavorful it was! I also got a matcha which was so good!! One of the best I've had. I got the caramel mocha bar for dessert. It was very heavy! I didn't love it, but I don't love mocha so I blame myself for ordering the wrong thing. My friend got the huevos rancheros and loved them and also got the tropical mango cupcake. She loved the cupcake, it was filled with mango inside! I was jealous and wish I had ordered a cupcake (they have a few different flavors)

I have bren to Playa del Carmen on october 9th to 10th and just tried my luck and showed up at the pitted date at 9am. Luckly the where allready open and I had the chance to try on of their delicious meals.
Read moreThey mentioned that they have reopened just two days ago and that they are serving a bit if a smaller menu (see fotos) than usual. Anyways, the selection is still well deversified and it was hard for my to choose.
I went with the creoa de espinacha and it was delicious! I had a capoucino with soy milk and a juice with it and I was happy with eveything.
The service was friendly, helpful an fast. The location is very nice and stylish. There are seating options in and outside.
Go and try it! It is absolutly worth it!
