So appreciated! - Edit
This was such a wonderful place to have available to us on our recent Mexico stay. We took the shuttle in from our resort twice (15-20 minute drive) and enjoyed the bagelwich, breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, fruit bowl, frappuccino and coffee. All were wonderful. Atmosphere was great (large covered patio allows you to be outside and catch the ocean breeze without frying) and service was friendly. Will definitely go again, should we return to the Playa del Carmen area.

An amazing place for vegan food - we could resist the chocolate cake. - Edit
Located close the Avienda 5, but in a quieter area, the Pitted Date, was a wonderful find. Being a completely vegan café it makes life so much easier when choosing from the menu. There is a lovely shaded outside area to sit or if you wish you can head inside. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful.
Read moreWe chose a couple of smoothies, the only problem was deciding which ones to have! They were totally amazing. For our main courses we ordered a sandwich and a quesadilla, which were beautifully presented and tasted equally good. By this time we were bursting at the seams but having gone into the store to use the restrooms where you pass by the display case full of tasty bakery goods, we could not resist the temptation of the chocolate cake.
We would highly recommend the Pitted Date to anyone wanting some delicious vegan food. Even non-vegans would really enjoy this place!
Pros: All vegan menu, Quiet and away from main tourist areas
Cons: A bit pricey

Expensive and not very impressive - Edit
I had the bagelwitch and is very very small and expensive. Taste is meuh.
Read moreThe omelette was ok too and the chilaquiles dry and bland. I think they are better at American food, not Mexican. The place is nice and the service good.

Interesting! We found the bagelwich so big that my husband could barely finish it. It's not the biggest bagel ever but it's so loaded with delicious toppings that we found it very satisfying :)

Disappointing the first time but Glad I gave it a second chance! And a third! - Edit
The carrot cake seemed stale and too sweet. My friend had had it the year before and said it was fabulous and that it was nothing like it used to be.
Read moreChilaquiles Were soggy chips covered with tasteless salsa and equally bland cheese. The accompanying beans were very good. I asked for extra beans was charged for them
The raw brownie I thought was excellent.
I will probably give it a second chance if I can convince my friends.
Very glad we gave it a second chance. The bagelwich was superb. The everything omelette was equally excellent.
Came back again and had the mushroom soup and a grilled cheese sandwich on gluten-free bread, both of which were fabulous.
And last night I had the jackfruit burger which was delicious
We will return.

Amazing! - Edit
This place is one of the best places I've been to... in the world! My wife and I ate there three times in two days and everything was fantastic from croissant to buritto to "omelette", even the green juice. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Best food in Yucatan - Edit
Drove around the yucatan and this place had the best food! It was nice to actually be able to get chilaquiles in Mexico! Their chocolate cake and bagel sandwich are also true gems. You could def bring your non vegan friends here and they’d be unlikely to complain.

Beautiful new location and the most delicious vegan, gluten free pastries! - Edit
I stopped in to see if they also had gluten free options as well as being vegan and they had many. The raw, vegan, GF brownie was one of the best I have ever had! The frosting!! How they did that without added sugar I have no idea. I wish we would have had a chance to stay for a meal, because the whole menu looks great. Hopefully next time.

Pitted Date is great if you are looking for a super tasty casual place to eat. Their menu is specialized on breakfast/lunch items but its soooo good you could eat any time of the day including dinner. They also make a great drinks and offer plenty of choice from speciality coffees to juices to kombuchas etc.

Delicious breakfast - Edit
We had the iced cacao mocha frappe w/coconut milk, French press coffee and the best vegan huevos rancheros I’ve had thus far! Lots of bakery items, smoothies and a huge breakfast menu. Their sauces are homemade, I definitely recommend the sweet yet spicy mango sauce. It’s a small cafe, but a good amount of outdoor seating. They also told us that they have a couple of off-menu items including BBQ jackfruit as well as tacos on the weekends. Can’t wait to go back!

Vale la pena - Edit
Must stop on PDC’s vegan trail. Smart menu with options you won’t find everywhere. They make their own vegan egg with chickpeas. The traditional works omelette was just slightly shown up by the breakfast burrito with guacamole. The coffee frappuccino was delicious and decadent. Warning: the large comes in a full sized mason jar.

Try their vegan eggs - Edit
I visit this place because I’ve heard that their eggs are bomb and man were they right! I tried their bagel-sandwich with scrambled eggs and bacon! I loved he combination of the flavors and it was hard to believe that it was 100% legit! I didn’t liked the atmosphere in the restaurant though as the furnitures and the decor is very ‘stylish and cold’ but the staff is nice and the food is good!

Wow!! Perfection! - Edit
This is so far, hands down, the best vegan spot in Playa Del Carmen!! During our first trip, we tried the hot cakes, mushroom madness sandwich, and the spinach omelette. All of our meals were excellent. I can still taste the pancakes with pure maple syrup. And the mushroom madness sandwich and fries... amazing! The omelette was my least favorite of our orders, but it was still great too! I’ll update this review soon because we will surely stop by a few more times before we leave the city!
Read more*update on 2nd visit* came back the next day and had the waffles, bagelwich, and mushroom omelette. The waffles were good, but not nearly as good as the pancakes. The bagelwich was amazing... just as good as the mushroom madness. The mushroom omelette was also a good bit better than the spinach omelette from yesterday. Food was still ALL amazing, and I’m finding it hard to find a reason to eat anywhere else in Playa. Too bad they are not open for dinner yet.
*update on 3rd visit* this time I tried the savoury crepe and carrot cake. Both were really good!
Pros: everything!!!!
Cons: nothing
