the olive branch is a fantastic little cafe serving delicious syrian middle eastern food made with love. one of the owner who was there when we were was so friendly and efficient, we got our food quickly even though we were in no hurry. the mocha and hot chocolate here is heavenly; i’m not sure what’s in it to make it so tasty, but both me and my mum agreed it was the best hot chocolate/and mocha we had ever tried. seriously. it’s a small space, yet comfortable and tidy. the value for money is excellent too. i highly recommend a sharing platter to get a true taste of what’s to offer here. truely a unique gem in essex- can’t wait to come back.

Welcoming and friendly and the owner informed me of all the ingredients in the vegan dishes. The platter was absolutely delicious and very filling. It was well worth the journey.

Unexpected Middle Eastern vegan delight in Essex countryside - Edit
I tried the 1-person vegan platter, which consisted of a mix of all the cold vegan dishes from the menu: falafel, pickled vegetables, stuffed eggplant, dips and more served with flatbread. Tasty and filling savioury lunch for a great value! The owner and the waiter were super friendly, the food was prepared quickly and the atmosphere is cosy when coming with the car, it's easy to park close by the restaurant. Definitely worth a detour if you're in the area!

Fantastic Middle Eastern food - Edit
Had lunch at the olive branch- olive branch platter- which had delicious vegan falafel, stuffed vine leaves, salads, pickles- with falafel wrap and minty fresh lemonade followed by vegan baclava.Small family run friendly cafe in Wivenhoe that I I would recommend and will be visiting again.

This restaurant is just off the main Street in Wivenhoe. The food and service were great and we had a memorable visit. Some of the dishes and tastes were new to us but we were not disappointed.
