Fabulous vegan offering - Edit
This newly opened guesthouse has fabulous vegan breakfasts but also a resident chef making evening meals and special treats to order. Truly amazing plant based food including picnic boxes, cream teas, special occasion cakes and chocolates. A wonderful combination in Torbay.

Sunday lunch at The Miggi - Edit
I didn’t stay at the guesthouse but met up with friends there for a wonderful Sunday lunch, all fresh veg, great roast potatoes and yorkies, with stuffing and nut roast en croute. I couldn’t manage dessert but got a takeaway for later. Would highly recommend

Love that there’s a place like this in Paignton - Edit
This place has so much heart, it’s so inclusive and welcoming. We didn’t stay there but could tell just from booking a breakfast. The owners have come up with a fantastic way to put veganism on the map in Torbay and I wish them lots of success with it!

Fantastic vegan guesthouse - Edit
Thoughtfully planned out guesthouse, from the book-themed rooms to the room contents - everything you need is here, including a fridge, recycling facilities and environmentally friendly toiletries. Great cooked breakfast with sizing adjustments to suit. The vegan vending machine is a great touch too! Really kind and helpful hosts and a very beneficial partnership with Phoenix (All Good Things Vegan) which means you can book delicious & inventive vegan evening meals, taking the pressure off finding somewhere to eat after a long day of holidaying! This is the perfect place to stay - especially for vegans who have dogs - being just a stone's throw from the beach. The green along the length of the promenade is great for morning & evening sniffy walks and the area has some beautiful circular walks to explore. We particularly enjoyed Brixham to Berry Head, Ansteys Cove to Meadsfoot Beach (the Bishop's Walk) and the Galmpton to Greenway circular along a peaceful creek to Agatha Christie's holiday home.

A vegan nerd's paradise - Edit
We were lucky enough to be some of the very first guests at The Miggi. The Miggi is clearly a labour of love for owners Naomi and Mark - from the warm welcoming atmosphere, to the handmade decorative details in every room. Each room is based around a particular author; we got a peek at a few of them while we were there, and are looking forward to relaxing in the decadent turquoises of the Oscar Wilde room, and brooding in the gothic opulence of the Mary Shelley suite, at a later date. For this visit we were staying in the Tolkien room, which is earthy, spacious, and fully accessible. The bed was comfortable, and the room benefits from a big wet room with a rainwater shower. It was lovely to have such a large, quiet, peaceful space to relax in, and we delighted in all the little nerdy touches - like the postcards from Middle Earth on the wall - as well as all the thoughtful additions like our choice of teas and milk, and locally made vegan toiletries. We also loved the Agatha Christie themed dinning room - which includes a paper-mache rendition of Bob, surely everyone's favourite Christie character - where we enjoyed abundant and varied multi-course vegan breakfasts. It would be remiss of us not to mention All Good Things Vegan, the Miggi's sibling business. Chef Phoenix is nothing short of a genius. Their presence at the Miggi means that those who choose can add vegan fine dining to their stay, in the form of multi-course afternoon teas or evening meals, packed picnic lunches or celebration cakes. We had an afternoon tea and a two course dinner during our stay, both exquisite and abundant, including some of the best vegan cake we have ever eaten.
Read moreWith its themed rooms, stacks of books and boardgames, and entrance hall wall-papered with book covers, the Miggi is a nerd's paradise, as well as a welcoming space for LGBTQ folks and guests with disabilities, and a delight for vegans. Doggo friends are also welcome! Cannot recommend strongly enough!
