Decent

Ordered a crispy tofu burger as delivery (and we all know burgers don’t travel well) and it was still pretty decent. The tofu was the right firmness, thickness and crispiness. Large menu, prices ok, would eat from again for sure.

Good pub food

Pleasantly surprised at the vegan food. Definitely on the junk food side but the Aussie parmi was delicious and my partner enjoyed the big burger. Only wish they gave us sauce for the chips. The portions were huge and the vibe inside was good! Definitely a good option in Hobart.

Best Plant-Based Pub Offering In Tassie!

Half the menu is plant-based!! Enough said.

If you’re after a satisfyingly junky pub feed, this is the perfect place. The vegan menu is full of burgers, parmis, wings, chips, popcorn bites, etc. The burgers have various patties: seitan, tofu and house-made veggie, quinoa or bean patties. To top it off, the place has a great atmosphere, good music and very friendly staff!

While I prefer fresher food, I wouldn’t knock back another visit here! Next time I’d probably order a side of carrots/celery or salad instead of chips to lighten the meal!

P.S. They also have some couches for a more laid-back dining setting!!

Good but messed up our order

We ordered a tofu burger and Aussie style schnitzel. Both meals came out at the same and I went for the burger first while my partner bit into the schnitzel. I looked at it and I was like “this looks way too realistic to be a schnitzel made out of seitan”. It turned out it wasn’t vegan 😤 🙈
They did a service recovery and all, but me as a long term vegan would’ve been pissed if I was the one eating that schnitzel first (my boyfriend is a newbie vegan).
Otherwise, vegan menu is pretty good and def hits the spot for vegan junk food.

Wings and beer and wings

Ordered the Vegan buffalo wings. Came out nice and quick with wonderful service. Nice cold local beer too. Great music. Looking forward to working through their plentiful vegan menu

Vegan burger & chips for under $20

Had the vegan ‘wings’ for an entree, the sauce was delicious and a vegan burger and chips for the main. Will revisit! Good option for when you are craving a solid vegan burger and fries.

Pros: Cheapest vegan burger and chips in hobart, Good atmosphere, Kids meal options

Cons: Limited seating on cheap drink & trivia nights

Best vegan (options) pub in Hobart

Came in for a small bite and had an absolutely delightful experience. Will be back tomorrow for a full meal.

Had the popcorn "chicken" and the cauliflower bites, both were great and not at all similar to vegan alternatives I had elsewhere in Australia.

Great pub fare that’s vegan!

While they also have a menu with meat, they have a whole dedicated vegan menu of burgers and pub fare. I tried the “Vegan West Coast”, which is a typical, imitation meat kind of American-style burger which comes with shoestring fries. Tasted great!

A great place to go if you’re vegan (or testing the waters) and just like normal burgers and pub fare.

Great pub vibe

Loved how it’s a normal pub with lots of vegan options. Fast food style burgers (homemade faux chicken and faux beef patties), broccoli wings, popcorn chicken etc - all very tasty.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Pub atmosphere , Cocktails

The BEST VEGAN FOOD in Hobart

The vegan menu here is so epic and with the taste to match its hard to want to go anywhere else. I've travelled all over the East Coast of Australia eating at almost every single vegan restaurant and this pub is so much better than all of them. It craps all over Netherworld in Brisbane and it's yards ahead of The Family in Newcastle. LOTF isn't even close! Do yourself a favour and try it, seriously. The price, taste atmosphere, availability of craft beers, Guinness on tap. It has it all and it's amazing! Well done The Mayfair. I will be back.

Pros: Good price, Good taste, Good beers

Cons: If i had to pick something, it would be that I had to ask for a fork.

Amazing pub food!!

The menu had 2 sides (meat / vegan) and my partner pointed out that the vegan side actually had slightly more options overall.

We had the vegan chicken wings with blue cheese sauce, and some burgers and chips. The portion sizes for the chips were really generous. We were blown away by the food!

The atmosphere was also really nice, with interesting art murals on the walls, nice staff, and comfy couches.

Overall an absolutely amazing place to go in Hobart if you’re a fan of classic pub food / burgers.
