An alright Indian place; not the best - Edit
If you check their website, they have an entire long list of menu items that can be made vegan. I really appreciate that they're not only vegan friendly but provide a vegan menu.
Read moreThat said, they have the worst appetizers of any Indian place I've tried here. Very so-so samosas and pakoras. Their chutney has a strong taste of cinnamon and licorice and when combined with pakoras produces the inexplicable taste of chocolate.
I love their chaats though. Very good portions for the price.
I've also tried their Dahl Makini which was great and their cashew curry- not the biggest fan but not bad (never eaten so much zucchini in a curry before).
Seems like what you get depends on what you order.

Delicious food and lots of vegan options. The vegan naan bread is scrumptious! I had the vegan vindaloo which was a good as those from Brick Lane. Definitely recommend.

The Mantra - Edit
The Mantra restaurant is regular 'go to' restaurant. There are many vegan options and the staff is always friendly and very accommodating and considerate of vegan needs. They even have vegan Naan Bread which is very rare!
Read moreThe food is very tasty and is offered at various spice levels. It is incredible value for money as well - much less expensive than many other restaurant in the area and if you are a hungry couple and order 3 mains with rice/naan and an appy you will likely have leftovers for two as well!
Have omni friends that you haven't yet converted, they offer other options but once they try the vegan options you may convert them.
I highly recommend Mantra (also found on Tillicum).
Pros: VERY tasty and flavorful, Great staff and overall service, Good value for the dollar - filling
Cons: No milk alternatives for chai tea, Still use plastic take out containers
