Read moreThey had a few options and it was one of the biggest portion sizes I have had in recent memory. Tasty as well.

Poor vegan options - Edit
No separate vegan menu, as suggested in the lisiting. Only 2 vegan mains, and both pretty bland, and not great value for money either. There's a bean chilli with rice, and a vegetable stir fry.
Read moreIf you're staying at the hotel, don't expect much from the breakfast either. They do offer plant milk for your cereal, but don't even have fruit... it seems to be assumed that you'll go for the cooked breakfast, which is definitely aimed at meat eaters.

Very limited vegan options - Edit
I asked for the vegan menu mentioned in the description but there wasn't one. I could only see two vegan options on the main menu, both were a bit uninspiring. I tried the chilli which was OK, a nice rich tomato sauce with a few beans in. The side was a dry piece of corn which smelt mouldy so I couldn't eat it. A good option for meat eaters, but disappointing for vegans so I really don't know why it's listed as vegan friendly.

Had a decent meal in this lovely pub. The pub and the staff are lovely. 3 vegan options at the time of visiting (June 21) stuffed peppers, vegetable stir fry and bean chilli. I had the bean chilli which came with chips and some vegan garlic baguette. It was nice. More vegan options than most other nearby restaurants and there were also a few vegetarian options too. Will return i’m sure.

An excellent traditional pub with very friendly service. The restaurant offers several delicious and clearly labelled options on a special vegan/gluten free menu.
