Vegan burger & delicious chips

Great little bar & the vegan burger was lovely .. couldve been improved if it could’ve been loaded & dirty 😂

The chips & side salad were spot on

Vegan options available but so overpriced

I really hate leaving negative reviews, and if the prices reflected the quality of the food I wouldn’t be so fussed, as I think it’s great if somewhere so remote has vegan options.
There were two vegan options on the menu, one was a vegan burger at £15.95 with the option to add vegan cheese for a further £2.50; and a vegetable katsu curry for £16.95.
I went for the curry because I couldn’t justify almost £20 for a burger that didn’t come with chips. It was some grey vegetables in a vaguely katsu tasting sauce and some white rice which I’m pretty sure was microwave rice.
I had better school dinners in the 90s, which is saying something. It was palatable with lots of salt and pepper but after paying £9.50 for a small glass of bad wine as well, I left feeling pretty pissed off that I’d spent £27 on something so average.
It’s community run and the fact they had vegan options is good though - just wish the prices reflected the quality better!

Pros: Vegan options existed

Cons: Overpriced, Bad quality

Nice pub, average food

This is a very nice pub with a pretty ordinary restaurant on the side. Two vegan mains on offer when we visited: a burger and a chickpea curry. Both were pretty average. But hey great that there are vegan options available in the one pub in this tiny village in the middle of nowhere! And it's community owned which is nice. We learned that a new chef was just coming into post so hopefully there will be innovations coming soon!

Great selection and delicious!

There were several vegan options on the menu and all clearly marked! And not just your standard risotto either! I was really impressed. The pub is nice too with a fire and live music some nights.

Pros: Great food, Helpful staff, Nice ambience
