Great sustainable products shop

Highly recommend making a stop and purchase here to support this business. Notable vegan products - choc powder, choc spread, chilli /sambal sauces, lots of dried fruits and nuts and some handy reusable items- & period sanitary products!
Just accessibility note - it is up a flight of stairs as only entry.

Great quality foods for cooking vegan

Welcomed by a warm environment with so many products. There they basically have everything from food to makeup. A lot is organic and vegan. Literally like the only nutritional yeast in KL.

Pros: So much to choose from, Very friendly staff , Mostly vegan

Cons: Definitely expensive! which is why I gave 4 stars, Location difficult to find. Have to walk upstair, Hours are inconsistent. Just call before.

Mostly vegan bulk food and zero waste store

Wonderful zero waste shop that offers a large range of bulk goods: grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, pasta, spices etc. Noteworthy bulk product: nutritional yeast!

Most cosmetic and laundry products are vegan, some items contains beeswax (just ask/check the ingredients list). Products such as shampoo and laundry detergent can also be bought in bulk (reusable containers are available but most folks bring their own).

Other items include: sanitary products (washable pads and menstrual cups); toothbrushes; mugs; bamboo, metal and glass straws; a range of locally crafted items (shopping bags etc.); locally grown kale (from Pluckedveg.com) which is delivered in bundles weekly but you can call ahead to reserve or preorder from the supplier to collect at the Hive; other fresh items sometimes include locally made sourdough bread, and nitro cold brewed coffee which can be enjoyed as you shop (or bring/buy as reusable cup and take it away).

Regular zero waste themed workshops frequently take place here - details can be found on the Hive Bulk Foods Facebook page.

Pros: Bulk nutritional yeast!, Great selection of bulk items , Lovely, helpful staff

Cons: Not all products are vegan

An idea that benefits us all

The Hive background seems to be something that is truly missing in food shops (and mentalities...) around the world: as little waste as possible, aiming for zero.
You should bring your own jars/bags/whatever you use to stow food (they do have some paper bags available if you forget) to keep what you buy - there is a lot of seeds, nuts, even salt, all sold by weight (bulk) which is a lot more economic.
Another part of the shop focuses on supporting projects that have a social background, selling their products at the Hive (felt vases from Burma, Jams, shea butter,...).
It is truly a fantastic project that deserves such high praise.
Congratulations!
