Grilled cheese and Mac and cheese! - Edit
What a win! All my childhood favs plus tater tots. The pesto is not vegan so if you see the picture with pesto and get excited just know that. Make sure everything you ordered is on your bill.

I have eaten at the Grilled Cheeserie several times earlier this year. Normally I would eat at the now closed Franklin location, but I've eaten at all of their locations without issue, at least in spring and early summer. Today, I was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch, but when I got my sandwich it didn't have the gooey melty vegan cheese I was used to from them; instead it was what looked like a unmelted slice of cheddar cheese. I double checked that they gave me vegan cheese, and they said they did, and that they had recently changed their cheese and that it doesn't really melt anymore. I remained hopeful, but the experience was just... school cafeteria "grilled" cheese. It lacked both cheesy taste and texture, was unsatisfying, dry despite adding some toppings like tomato, onion, jalapeno relish and mustard, and overall kind of bland. It was also the first time I had still been hungry after eating there.

Awesome vegan milkshake. Ordered the vegan coconut milkshake and slurped it up in two minutes it was sooo good. Perfect consistency and not too sweet. Spot on.

My fiancé and I went here on a Sunday morning while visiting Nashville for a wedding. The vegan options are clearly marked and the staff are super courteous. We ordered two vegan grilled cheeses on the rosemary gluten free bread with avocado, tomato, and a side of taster tots. I didn’t even have to specify no butter, they confirmed it before I had to ask! They also confirmed that the chocolate sauce is dairy free for our milkshakes. We don’t eat stuff like this often, but it was vacation, so we had a treat. It was totally worth it! I was very pleased to see that they compost and use 100% compostable packaging materials, an A for the environment! Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was super cool.

I never thought the words "artisan grilled cheese" could go together, but this place does just that. It's crazy delicious, comforting grilled cheese and the tater tots are on point!
Read moreUnfortunately the onions are sauteed in butter, so not vegan; but other than that, you can build quite the delicious grilled cheese sandwich here.
It's usually pretty busy, so be prepared for a decently long line; it moves pretty quickly though. It is expensive for a grilled cheese, but there's a reason a food truck as able to open a very successful brick and mortar location in an expensive to rent space part of town.

Their menu is clearly marked with vegan options. I had a vegan grilled cheese on sourdough and tomato soup and it was delicious! Their vegan cheese is the real deal.
