Good food and decent atmosphere

Selection of burger options, tried 2 and was happy with each one. Brownie was vegan, wasn’t the best but as nice and nice to have a desert at least!

Pros: Decent vegan options, Good atmosphere

Mixed bag

I recently moved to Frome and have eaten here a few times over the last 6 months or so. Whilst sometimes the food is really good, it's not really consistent which isn't great. The first time I went it was really great - I had a vegan Korean chickn burger, which was absolutely lush and me and my friend shared some vegan chicken wings as well, which were great also. Mind you the table next to us got served chicken instead of vegan chickn which I think is pretty unacceptable.
The second time we went our food took quite long to arrive and the vegan wings weren't as tasty as the time before and the temperature of the burger wasn't hot enough for my liking.
Then a few of weeks ago we got a home delivery from them. I had the vegan chickn burger again but this time besides the Korean sauce it was also drenched in some other sauce (maybe some kind of mayo), which completely destroyed the Korean flavouring. We spent quite a bit on food but still had to pay a delivery charge. The following week, they started doing free delivery over 25 quid or so, which was pretty gutting as we'd have gotten free delivery if we'd ordered our delivery a week later. I think this experience put me off for a while. Somehow it feels like whoever is in charge is not really in control. There's just too many inconsistencies. I might go back to the pub at some point when they've reopened but for the time being I'll leave it as we were quite disappointed with the delivery.

Pros: When it's good, it's GOOD!

Cons: Inconsistent standard of food, Management is hit & miss

Great pub with decent choice, but aspects of their offering need a vegan overhaul

The chef who cooks is vegan, so you can be assured that he understands your requirements. Came in here for the roast on Sunday and had a really tasty roast celeriac. It was sliced and the texture was great. Unfortunately they are unable for the time being to make any vegan Yorkshire puddings, which is REALLY disappointing and I hope they work on that for the future.
Having said that the roast is good value for £10. You can also get two courses for £13, though out of principle I wouldn’t order that. A meat roast is £12 and £13 for two courses and I don’t see why I should pay £3 for my pudding when meat eaters pay £1.
They had their first burger night last night and I look forward to going next week as I heard lots of good things about it. I was able to get a sneak peek of them last week and my only gripe would be that again vegans get a little less value for money. The chicken burger was double burger size and the beefburger came with cheese, whilst us vegans get a single beetroot burger with no extras.
Overall I would say this place is quite vegan friendly, though I think they need to work on the variety of vegan offerings and portion sizes. They seriously need to get some vegan cheese in so people can have cheesy chips, cheeseburgers and nachos with something else than just salsa. The snack menu is unfortunately particularly unimaginative and desperately needs a vegan overhaul!!

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, Not too expensive, Vegan chef

Cons: Somewhat safe / unimaginative vegan food offering
