A Green Oasis - Edit
A wonderful, small cafe set amongst gardens and a lawn, with homemade food and excellent drinks. Having always been vegetarian, there is now a wide range of vegan meals and cakes. There is seating inside and out, with a good amount of covered seating in the gardens. It is a bustling place with regular outdoor events including music nights, film nights and a variety of workshops. Also a Fair-trade shop. Dogs welcome. A true oasis in a busy village.

Cons: Closes after Christmas until mid-March

Lovely place, lovely people, lovely food. - Edit
I've visited The Green Place a few times now and they're always kind, friendly and attentive. The food and drinks available are lovely although it's not a regular menu (it wasn't the same the two times I've been) there's always something nice. They have a good selection of zero waste products for sale too!

Lovely food in relaxed setting - Edit
We had a lovely gathering having booked the 'sunnyside' pod for lunch, drinks and cake. The weather wasn't the best, but the pod was enough to keep 6 of us cosy enough (with coats). The ordering system works well and the food is always nice. The team spend time ensuring vegan and veggie customers are aware of options and all are clearly marked on the menus. Everyone who works there or volunteer are friendly and helpful.

Simple menu of light lunches. All vegetarian but vegan options as well. I had a bean burger which was delightful and came with a small fresher than fresh salad.

There's no place like the Green Place - Edit
The Green Place is in a category of it's own - not just a café, a laid-back little oasis where the children can play in the treehouse or roam the wildlife garden, where you can pick up a second hand book in the book hut, where you can hear live music or take part in (children's and adults) craft workshops and activities, or on film nights even watch a movie... The programme is eclectic and ever-varied, so check the website before traveling to find out what's on when.
Read moreThe food is simple but good, and really good value. It's all vegetarian, but always at least one vegan cake to go with your cup of tea, as well as vegan options on the main menu & specials board and on the kids menu.
Pros: Relaxed garden setting , Very child-friendly, Cosy woodburning stove
Cons: Service can be slow when it's busy., Closed in January and February.
