Amazing attention to detail - Edit
Had a great experience, from the drinks to the food to the service. Appreciated the attention to detail and the beautiful presentation. Especially loved the Stacy’s cardamom mocktail and the warm potato salad! Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Wilmington!

Vegan Fine Dining - Edit
Amazing to have an entire menu vegan and gluten free! Although it made choosing really hard. We ate on the patio with heaters for dinner and spent about two hours sampling as much as we could. Love that they have a Zero Proof drink menu too!
Read moreWe also were offered to order off the tapas menu from lunch which was a nice bonus.
I got the butternut minestrone which was described as having a squash base but was actually just a few chunks of butternut among some other veg. It was the only dish I could easily have made at home and wasn’t as thrilled with.
The charcuterie board was yummy and a great item to share and whet our appetites.
I had the gnocchi for an entree and wasn’t in love with it (a bit oily for me) so I swapped with my dad and ate his autumn harvest which I enjoyed.
Wonderful service, and a really special experience. I probably shouldn’t have gone running beforehand because I wasn’t full after (this is a place for presentation not volume.)
Much appreciation for a great night out!

Eaten here twice since they opened it’s the best vegan food I’ve had in a long time. We travel a lot and always enjoy the finest vegan restaurants when we do. This is the best I’ve had. Of fine dining vegan.

Well done - Edit
If you want an upscale, fresh, delicious dining experience this is the place in wilmington. It’s pricey but I personally find it worth supporting a local all vegan business and the occasional night out to treat yourself! Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are on point! I think it’s mostly (if not all) gluten free as well if that’s something you need. Non vegans will love too!

Cons: Expensive (but it is considered more fine dining)

One of my favorite Wilmington meals!!! - Edit
Although I eat mainly WFPB now, I am open to dining at other restaurants and eating a wide variety of non-WFPB cuisines. My husband & I dined at The Green House last night and I can honestly say that it was one of my all-time favorite meals in Wilmington. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was sooo yummy!! We shared the courses. As a starter, we had the Mushroom Board - WOW!! The mushroom bacon was the bomb!! Every offering on the board was spectacular and unique. Our salad, the Beets & Farm Cheese, was very flavorful and appealing to the eye. Our Eggplant Filet was so surprising! I never would have thought to prepare eggplant as a hearty filet with a reduction sauce - so wonderful! The chocolate cake was perfect - rich, chocolaty, and not overly sweet with a really beautiful presentation. As someone with a treenut allergy, I was still able to have a glorious meal - I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything, which is not always the case in vegan restaurants. I wish I could post photos because the meal and interior were quite impressive. It didn’t feel like Wilmington.

Nice, but not 5 Star material... - Edit
Finally got the opportunity to go to the Green House Restaurant (GHR), after waiting, given COVID normal operations and shortages. Many different observations. The physical restaurant was beautiful, the staff... friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and yet, very busy. We chose to seat outside, in the very green and lovely garden patio. A couple of observations... noisy with the traffic on Oleander... the table to chair height ratio off, sat too low, and they should consider a ceiling fan to move the air, helping with gnats and the occasional second-hand cigarette some from the surrounding outdoor restaurant. The black glass-top table was not clean when we were seated and we mentioned it to the hostess, but no one bothered to wipe it.
Read moreThe dishes look amazing on the website menu and were equally beautiful when served. The Arugula & Herbs salad was excellent and yet nothing special for a great salad. Each of the dishes seemed to lack adequate seasoning. The King Trumpet Scallions looked astonishing and tasted very good, but it was not scallops, the texture being equal to taste for me. The Aubergine Filet was tasty, and I do like eggplant, but did not remind me of steak, in taste or texture. The biggest disappointment was the Italian Sausage & Fennel dish. The sauce was bitter, and again, the Sausage texture was not even close.
So, as a confirmed meat lover and consumer, I pose an age-old question: Why do vegans make food look like meat? If the drive to end (or slow) the meat protein sins, why not present the food as non-meat. Skeuomorphism will not change the culture and does not (for me at least) bring me closer to my family and culture... and does not serve as a bridge to veganism.
My wife who was most interested in giving the GHR a try, and enjoys tasty small bits and seldom eats again after a meal... as soon as we arrived home, prepared and consumed a quick burrito made with homemade pork chili verde from our refrig. Likely a good thing that PTs Grille was closed. COVID times are challenging and the GHR is definitely worth a try but unequivocally not 5 Star dining experience for me and not worth the $$$$ cost.
Pros: Beautiful establishment, Knowledgeable Staff, Dishes are visually appealing
Cons: Expensive for the experience, Dishes trying to look like meat, Seasonings on dishes need improvement

Nailed the eggplant filet - Edit
Fantastic work! We had the mushroom plate, Golden latté, the arugula salad, ribbons of root salad, summer vegetable entree, eggplant filet, and matcha brulée.
Read moreEach brought something special to the table. Nearly every first bite left us excited about the dish, with plenty of dish leftover to enjoy.
Each item was masterfully prepared, balanced, and accessible.
Their system is classically effective at serving patrons.
We had an excellent time. If you are in Wilmington and want a top tier fine dining experience, give them a visit.
