Great selection...rude staff - Edit
My wife and I are frequent patrons and spend much $$ here. That apparently doesn’t matter to the owners. Which never puts anyone in the right. However when a particular staff member is constantly rude to you and your wife what do you do? I talked to the owner about it in a calm professional manner. She was just as rude, called me a liar, and threatened to call the police. All because I was expressing my concerns. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. There are a ton of local options with great customer service.

Cafe and smoothies are yummy - Edit
I got a black bean burrito. It was a 4 out of 5. They also have vegan&gf sweets. The market section is fair. Kind of over priced but honestly I came here to eat so it was worth the trip for me. I will come back again.

We L-O-V-E Lovey’s! When we moved to Wilmington six months ago I was vegetarian but not vegan, I have been vegan since Thanksgiving. Lovey’s is a great health food store; it is well organized and clean, and the staff is extraordinarily helpful. There is a café with a hot food bar, salad bar, and a menu of dishes that are made-to-order. Lovey’s has quickly become my favorite Wilmington restaurant. The salad bar has all kinds of interesting things (fabulous curried cauliflower salad, grape leaves, fresh green, spinach, and fruit salads) and everything is clearly marked as to whether it’s vegan and/or gluten-free. It is probably the only place I eat out where I feel completely safe. The ladies’ room is always clean and well-stocked. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lovey’s.

As for the grocery section, it's great. My husband and I got some goodies that we don't see back home. And the prices are reasonable.
Read moreBut the real treat is back at the cafe section. We got a small vegan chocolate cake with dried bananas, chocolate drizzle, and walnuts. My oh my, it was amazing! So we went back and bought a tiny carrot cake cupcake. It too was delicious. Everything is clearly marked with a V for vegan and ingredients are listed. I recommend checking out their cakes/cupcakes.

Lovey's is very serviceable - Edit
I visited the store twice for some goods. It is mostly packaged goods and supplements, not really a full on Market. Wide selection, but no focus on local goods. I get the feeling that may take more time than they want to put to it. The cafe is big and has a decent salad bar with some hot items, but is a bit unattended too. Staff seemed nice but really acted only as employees which I guess they are. Get the feeling that management could give them more ownership which might encourage them to take more interest in customers. Buy into their savings card to be a member to save 10%!

We were staying out at Topsail and as vegans, knew the beach wasn't going to offer a whole lot of dining choices for us. Lovey's was a bit farther out from the island than we thought (about a half hour) but it was worth the drive. The grocery section was good but the hot/salad bar was great! More cheese than I would have liked, but still a ton of vegan options that were for the most part excellent. We had lunch and then packed a couple more to-go boxes to take back to our mini-fridge for dinner!

Lovey's is a great place to eat really healthy food at a reasonable price and relax before you shop for great items you can't find in regular food stores.
