Decent vegan options - Edit
My family and I have all eaten vegan meals here a few times over the years (most recently yesterday) and they’ve always been accomodating. They have a few vegan options on the menu and will alter other dishes. I opted for the one with roast pumpkin and broccolini on sourdough, adding smashed avocado to make it more substantial (also since the avo toast required removing the eggs and dairy feta) it tasted really yum and was a lot more filling than it looked… I only wish they would offer vegan alternatives for things like the feta if you’re going to pay the same price with the dairy/eggs removed.

Well labeled options, though slightly confusing as some of the vegan options are very different to the original. Had a very tasty baguette though and would go back for sure. Service was also great.

Nice Little Cafe - Edit
Headed here based on the reviews on Happy Cow. Wasn't disappointed. We sat in the pleasant little courtyard out the back. They had plenty of vegan and vege options, the food was tasty, the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely head there again when next out that way.

I ordered the Rajetarian which was recommended to me by one of the wait staff as being her favourite dish on the menu. She suggested adding the avocado side (additional $5) and now I can see why. It's a medium sized bowl of spiced rice/quinoa with some herbs and pepitas that is quite pleasant, but felt more like a side dish. At $16, it really should have been a complete meal. Also the chai mix is not vegan (contains honey) despite the first staff member's assurances that it was suitable for vegans.

There aren't many places in Emerald to get a good feed if one is vegan, but the General Food Store usually has some excellent options (their menu is seasonal so some months there are more vegan options than others). They also have a lot of gluten free options (their home made gluten free bread is excellent).
Read moreThe staff are lovely and there are seats out the front where you can sit with your dog. There is also a nice quiet courtyard out the back.
They have a great range of vegan cakes too, the carrot cake is particularly tasty.
