Best vegan milkshakes - Edit
28/05/22
Read moreMilkshakes from here can be made vegan with plant based milks. They taste amazing. One of their specialties is their rainbow bagels which can have a filling of vegan cream cheese and vegan bacon, which was also tasted amazing. There are other vegan options also to try if you didn't want a bagel, such as a vegan crossiant. They also have vegan confectionary to buy inside the shop.

This time I had a mushroom, cheese and basil ciabatta, which was pretty good with a deluxe hot chocolate with coconut milk, whipped cream and marshmallows.

I tried the vegan bacon and maple syrup waffles. Really enjoyed them and very filling. I also had a vegan milkshake

I created my own meal, so I had avocado on toast and added their new vegan bacon. I really liked it. I also had a vegan salted caramel coconut milkshake. The milkshakes are always good

I took lunch away today. I had the vegan bacon and cheese bagel with the hash tots. Both was pretty good. I ordered a vanilla milkshake with a shot of coffee and whipped cream, very nice drink. Lovely as all ways

Such Great Atmosphere and Food - Edit
They have a fully vegan menu in the main menu folder with just as many options as the meat menu. I had a delicious oat latte and a cinnamon roll - and they were tons more options for sweet treats. 1000% recommend for food and coffee in Dundee!

Seemed like a great idea: rainbow bagels for Pride - Edit
Ordered the onion bhaji rainbow bagel, falafel and houmous rainbow bagel and a portion of hash brown bites with chilli jam and vegan pesto mayo.
Read moreHad initially asked to see the allergen matrix as both my partner and I have quite serious allergies. Was initially told they didn't have one as its hard to keep up to date with regular ingredient changes from suppliers, the manager was happy to check out all the ingredients on things to reassure us and later brought out the outdated matrix.
While we appreciated checking the allergens for us, it was quite an uncomfortable experience because it felt like the whole staff and customers were watching, when if an up to date matrix was available we could have checked discretely ourselves. Found it a little demeaning having the food explained and sauces being brought out into the cafe to publicly show us the labels.
Overall the hash brown bites were great, however we were disappointed with the rest. The bagels were quite hard and stale, the onion bhajis undercooked and the falafel was really crumbly and dry. We think perhaps all the questions about allergies made the staff panic and perhaps being busy due to Pride resulted in sub-par food. A shame, as it seemed promising having a separate vegan menu and lots of good reviews!
Pros: Made vegan pesto mayo to order, Manager had good intentions regarding allergies
Cons: Disappointing famous rainbow bagel, Lack of allergen matrix

Lots of options! - Edit
Flame Tree has always had great vegan options. They have a separate vegan menu and always adapt items to make them vegan - this is especially great when they do their Christmas drinks!

Lovely café! - Edit
Even though it's not fully vegan there's so much to love here. An extensive and flexible vegan menu, all delicious and nicely presented, good value and quickly served (even though they said to expect a wait). Inability to choose remains a welcome novelty as a vegan eating out! Plus a friendly young team, LGBTQI-plus friendly vibe, and accessible loo with baby changing, period products and nappies.

I had the Avo toast with veggie/vegan haggis, which was amazing!
The vibes are very nice and the service is friendly.
Great place to come if ur with non vegan friends, as they sure won't complain about lack of options.
They also see random little Australian snacks (like Tim Tams) for all the Aussies craving a sense of home.
Will definitely be back soon :))

Service was not particularly friendly. Lunch deal is still kinda expensive for what you get, a small bowl of soup and a really small wrap (but tasty).

Nice breakfast stop! - Edit
We stopped here on our trip twice, though both times there was no vegan bacon, which is fine, but it wasn't mentioned either time when we were seated with the vegan menu. We left the first time as were both really in the mood for a vegan bacon bagel and then had something else the second time. The coffee was nice and the food we did have was good. The staff said the vegan bacon was on back order which we understood but since there were a few menu-options revolving around the vegan bacon it would have made sense for them to tell us this when they sat us down with the vegan menu.

My favourite cafe! - Edit
Recently found this little cafe and it’s a hidden gem! I’ve tried the cake (divine!) and had an onion bhaji wrap too! Friends with me had meat options. We would all recommend, the food tastes great and is good quality. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Always been busy when I have visited, not many tables so you may be unlucky but it also means it has a lovely atmosphere.

This is one of my favourite cafes in Dundee! Amazing vegan deluxe hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. For a non-veggie cafe, they have so many vegan options - like delicious vegan bacon, cheddar and cream cheese. Their smashed avocado and vegan bacon on toast is my favourite.

Fab find! - Edit
This cafe is lovely for a light lunch with the family. I had an avocado wrap and my fiancé had a jackfruit wrap, they were lovely! I also had an amazing vegan chocolate milkshake, they have several flavours. My little boy had the most amazing rainbow bagel with vegan chocolate spread. Staff are very up on their vegan info. Definitely pay this cafe a visit if you’re near.

Lovely little cafe, loads of options for all dietary requirements on the menu (with separate gluten free and vegan menus too). Rainbow bagels were delicious and soups were some of the best I've tried! Gorgeous coffees - bright colourful lattes and the most dreamy iced coconut latte ever!! Definitely recommend!!

One of Dundee's Best - Edit
Love this place! The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the food is amazing! I love coming here and it's always one of my go-to places for lunch!
Read moreWith a separate vegan menu, Flame Tree has got a good amount of options, from sandwiches and salads to their famed rainbow bagels! The BBQ jackfruit is amazing on a wrap/salad and baked potato!
They also have different milk options for their drinks with an option to add vegan cream and marshmallows to the hot chocolate!
I would say that the frappes aren't worth the money. They are much more expensive than the milkshakes (which they don't do vegan b/c they use ice cream) and they aren't that great.
They also have a few traybake things on offer for vegans, including a chocolate crunch (very chocolatey!), a coconut cereal thing, a date slice and energy balls. I am not too fussed for these, saves me being tempted by dessert, but I'd love some cake options! :P
Pros: good vegan menu , delicious food , friendly staff
Cons: quite expensive , sometimes hard to get a seat! ,

Great cafe. It's lovely inside, modern and comfortable. The staff serving us were super friendly and helpful. There are so many tempting dishes on the vegan menu, they've put some thought into it, they provide 3 plant based milks for hot drinks and even serve vegan Mayo. The food is excellent quality and nicely presented. I would come here all the time if I lived close enough.
