Not worth the money - Edit
When me and my boyfriend went, it was early evening and we were the only two people in the establishment. I ordered the vegan fish and chips and he had the vegan burger. The burger was dry, my mushy peas were cold and the faux cod was disgusting. We left disappointed and still hungry. As I come from a seaside town, I wouldn't class what sell as fish and chips, mainly due to the fact the chips we were given were more like wedges and like they had been cooked in an acti fryer. This is my opinion though and I am sure some people have had great meals here

Lots of vegan choices - Edit
The vegan menu is as big as the normal menu and had so much choice it was difficult to make a decision. Opted for Korean vegan fish burger and loaded fries, it was great

One of the few tasty chip places in Leicester - Edit
Clearly labelled veggie and vegan options with great cocktails. Worth booking if a big party as the location is a through route so gets busy. Great to sit outside in the summer

Delicious! - Edit
Visiting my son and his girlfriend who take delight in finding me vegan food in Leicester as where I live - Bedford - options are pretty limited. It was very easy to navigate the menu and the staff member was very clear and knowledgable about the menu. I chose the Salt and Pepper Squid to start and it tasted exactly like the real thing, naturally the texture was different to squid but the taste was perfect. I chose the Vegan Fish & Chips for my main course and that too was delicious. Maybe a little wore wasabi in the batter would be good but that’s just nitpicking really as I love wasabi. The tartare sauce was brilliant with the ‘fish’ and the mushy peas were nice and minty. The chips were perfect 👌. The drinks menu was easy to navigate as it was clearly marked for Vegans. I had the raspberry lemonade (I was driving but my son and girlfriend each had cocktails which they said were very good). We didn’t have dessert as we were all full. I can’t give it 5 stars as the app only lets you do that for fully vegan restaurants but if I could I would.

Cons: Not the cheapest (but totally worth the price)

What a Catch! - Edit
We randomly stopped in Leicester one evening and were looking for vegan options, this came up on HC and Google. I saw some people worried about flavour (no evidence of that, it was flavoursome), portion size (there's plenty), and the price for what you get (it's a restaurant it's typically priced).
Read moreThere's a main fish&chip menu with lots of alternatives, plus a bonus plant based menu based on their travels around the world. All cooked fresh and homemade.
The highlights were those vegan s&p squid, which I think may have been mushroom, but it was so clever and tasty! The vegan fish had a gorgeous batter, good texture, and the vegan tartar was to die for. Even better still was the wine menu clearly stated when wines were suitable, so throw Barnivore away for the night!
Lovely! We'll be back for more 3
Pros: Lots of interesting vegan options
Cons: They were playing indie music, we hate indie haha

Amazing improvement!! - Edit
Have been a handful of times now, and in the previous two outings was pleasantly surprised to see their efforts to upgrade accommodating for vegans! Theres a fully dedicated vegan menu now with around 6-8 choices for starters and around the same number of mains to choose from. There was even a vegan drinks list which was a blessing so didn't need to Google whether a certain wine brand was vegan-friendly or not. Had a vegan meatball sub and was blown away by how good it was. Very fair pricing, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, will be a regular spot for me I think!

Good vegan food, friendly staff - Edit
We had an enjoyable trip to this restaurant in the cty centre, on a rainy day, with one year old twins. There is a lot of vegan choice so we'll have to go again :)

Terrible - Edit
The first warning sign was that the restaurant was near empty at half 5 on a Friday evening. Me and my boyfriend chose to ignore this sign and proceed anyway. What a mistake. We went to this restaurant on the premise of good vegan options. Whilst there was options, none of them were good. The starters were an absolute rip off, flavourless, bland and vegan food was presented with meat next to it which didn't make any sense. It was disappointing. The main was even worse, my boyfriend had 3 lone sausages and a gravy that was more red wine than gravy with some pathetic peas and decent chips. My vegan fish and chips was hard cauliflower in seaweed that tasted like mushy teabag. We didn't even attempt a dessert. My boyfriend made a dash to the toilet afterwards so put it this way, we won't be back. Also, how can you get curry sauce SO SO wrong. Stick to the local chippy guys :/

I was a little apprehensive about trying this place as I used to love Maiyango and was sad it changed. However, I was not disappointed! The vegan fish and chips was really tasty -such a great texture! The ginger cake and icecream was delicious! Such a good range of vegan and veggie options

Vegan 'fish' and chips! - Edit
There was a large vegan selection such as loaded chips, vegan burger and pea fritters, to name a few, but I had to go for the vegan 'fish' and chips when I saw it on the menu (printed as a newspaper), it was a root vegetable wrapped in nori- giving it an authentic seafood flavour, and battered. The curry sauce is vegan and they have vegan mayo!

Cons: Slow service, Can get busy at lunch
