A real find - Edit
We ate here as it was only one of two restaurants with vegan options in Rye. It was absolutely delicious food, with several choices. What I really loved was that it wasn't your standard vegan food and it was clear that the vegan options had been carefully thought out. Highly recommended for a real treat!

Yummy & lovely environment - Edit
The food here was delicious - they had a vegan menu which offered good choices. It really was a well-prepared feast! There was even a free appetiser that was vegan. Service was excellent and the setting is pleasant and simply, but beautifully, decorated. We would definitely go back.

Perfect end to our holiday - Edit
I ordered the baked aubergine flavoured with garlic and it was honestly one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever eaten. The flavours, presentation and contrasting textures made it a wonderful culinary experience. The service was excellent, as was the setting. I highly recommend this restaurant and I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Great in most views - Edit
We went there at Lunch time. It was very empty so we weren‘t annoyed by any noise etc. I had the Vegan Thali and it was super yum! My meat eating dad had the non-vegetarian Thali and liked it as well. What I have to mention though is that for people who don‘t like food on the spicier side it might be hard to find sth they like. The room itself was super nice and the service as well. On the menu they also showed quite clearly the allergy advice of every meal. All in all it‘s a great option for all people who like Indian cuisine!

Strange combinations - Edit
We went here for our anniversary lunch - I chose the food old mushroom salad as a starter and the butternut squash from the three vegan roast options. The spiced potatoes and the onion bhaji’s were delicious, and there was also a side of vegetables. The ‘main affair’ ie the butternut squash was disappointing, as it was basically just a slice of butternut squash filled with rice. It all left me a little confused. The atmosphere is lovely in the seating area at the rear with the view of the old monastery wall.

Good Food but slow service. - Edit
The food was delicious but it was a strange experience. I asked to book for 7pm and was told there was no availability so booked for 6.15pm instead. The place was half empty till we left just before 8Pm, so that confused me. They seemed to be short staffed when we arrived so it took a good half hour to get menu and drinks. We were however offered a complimentary starter which was delicious. We were seated in a corner so didn't see the lit up garden till we left which was a shame and the low chairs were quite uncomfortable. The manager said he is working on creating vegan desserts which sounds good.

Cons: Service was terribly slow., Vegetarian mixed starter was not good value.

Impressive - Edit
Light, airy dining room with art displays, monastery view at rear and jazz playlist. Beautifully presented food including hard-to-find dosa and smoked aubergine that delivers on smoky flavour topped with a giant tempura chard leaf worth travelling for!
Read morePlates also showcase a rainbow of seasonal veg cooked to perfection with Indian spices and chutneys. Lunchtime prices are especially great value. A classy dining find in a lovely small town.
Pros: Charming service
