Good variety of vegan dishes, and reasonably priced

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The menu had clearly marked vegan dishes on the menu. Most of the starters and most of the vegetarian curries were marked as vegan.

We did initially worry that the restaurant didn't understand what "vegan" meant because one of the starters were marked as vegan despite being a paneer dish! We asked the staff and they apologised that it was a mistake on the menu and that it was indeed a dairy paneer. They reassured us that it was the only mistake and everything else that was marked vegan was correct.

Even though the side dishes, rice dishes, and breads were not marked as vegan, we asked staff and they confirmed they were happy to switch out ghee and cook vegan versions of these.

We also noticed the bhajis were served with a white, creamy sauce and asked if they confirm it was not dairy (we're paranoid haha). They confirmed it was vegan and made with coconut milk!

For starters we had onion bhajis which had a great flavour and were crispy. We also had these lentil donut things which were delicious! For mains we ordered aubergine curry, dal and spinach curry, vegetable korma, and okra masala. We enjoyed that variety of dishes, which had different textures and flavours. None of it felt too oily.

Staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and seemed to understand what vegan meant. Food was good.

Pros: Good variety of vegan dishes clearly marked, Happy to adapt dishes to by switching out ghee, Attentive and friendly staff

Cons: Spotted 1 mistake (paneer starter) marked as vegan, Not a vegan restaurant
