Great food

Food was excellent and the staff member that helped us was really great at recommending food for specific diets and allergies. I had the Donair and it was amazing. My friends had the BLT in the clubhouse and both thought that they were terrific. I will definitely be back.

Great food, but...

This is my first 2 star review and I'm sad about it... however, I really do have concerns about this place. The first time I visited, the food was very delicious. Great French Toast, great Salad, but very slow service. Also not the nicest. The second time I visited they were closed for no reason with no explanation. I know life happens, so we went a third time. This time was bizarre. The place was OVERWHELMED by the smell of cat litter which was seriously unpleasant. Whoever was working also had their children running around, and it just looked like a real mess. As in, not clean. Again, I'm compassionate toward working mothers and still gave the benefit of the doubt. But the service was just so very unpleasant as if she was upset we had entered. No greeting, just sort of an eyeroll. When we said we were going to leave, she didn't even say anything. She just put them menu down and walked away.

So. I realize maybe this was a very unfortunate day, but I've heard similar comments from others and don't think the attitude is entirely a one-off moment.

Too bad because the food was really good.

Tasty bunny

Interesting restaurant. Sparse decor but the food was quite good. Lots of really interesting options on the menu- really wanted to try the donair based on the reviews and asking the waitress for her recommendations. It has all day breakfast and saw a vegans eggs Benedict which made me even more curious than the donair…so I ordered them both.

The eggs Benedict was interesting- ok but not something I would order again. The donair with sweet potato hash however was capital E- Excellent! It had an unexpected sweet flavour and was very tasty with sriracha sauce. Only complaint about the donair is that it is super messy and difficult to eat without getting sauce all over yourself. This is not take out food…or eat later food. There is so much sauce that it will make the bread too soggy to eat

Very curious to try more stuff

Pros: Interesting selection on menu, Tasty donair , Looks like their mission is more animal welfare

Cons: Donair is messy , A bit expensive

OK Food

The food is ok, but I felt like the food wasn't very fresh. I had a donair that was ok and a cookie that was hard and dry.

Update: I had the chicken burger and it was delicious. The service is very slow though.

Vegan restaurant 😋

Nice retro decor inside, great easy music playing and friendly staff.
I ordered the bbq burger with bacon 🥓 and cheese 🧀, comes with a side order of chili.
The chili taste great 👍
The burger is flavourful, mouthful to eat and very filling.
Freshly brewed coffee with oats milk for creamer.
Also ordered 3 kinds of baked goodies from their bakery.

Great eats!

I really enjoyed the clubhouse here, everything is made from scratch and with love.

I would say it’s a little expensive but I like supporting them when I want to treat myself

Homemade faux meats

This Cafe is wonderful. Family run and operated. They make their meats and breads from scratch and it is delicious! I highly recommend the steak sandwich if eating gf. Otherwise get the clubhouse or the big Mac. Everything is very tasty!

Not Great

We've always had an issue eating at this restaurant. The service has been slow and the food is always inevitably cold when it arrives. And it hasn't been great food. This are concerns that I have heard from others as well. Everyone is friendly, which is great and it's a welcoming environment.

If you're looking for a great dining experience, I don't recommend this place.

Pros: Friendly people, Pleasant environment

Cons: Slow service - have time to kill when going here, Food is so/so, Food arrives cold more often than not.

Phenomenal Burger

Every time I go to Edmonton, I try to get to the Clever Rabbit as the food is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, the staff are friendly and helpful, the decor is fun, and the desserts are can't-stop-at-just-one good. I have had bites of things off of other people's plates and everything I have tried has been really tasty but I always opt for the Big Mac (which was an off the menu option whenever I was there) as it is so good and I cannot imagine anything being better.

Pros: Great food, Cute decor

Clever Rabbit

The food took almost an hour to come out and when I got my tofu scramble 80% of it was freezing cold. The servers were very nice and the restaurant it’s self was nicely decorated but the food was slightly below average.

Pros: friendly staff, good atmosphere , good location

Cons: long wait time, too long to get food, food was cold

Best Vegan Big Mac - Just too expensive

Why a big mac with a handful of hash browns is $17 (and why I continue to pay these high prices!😄 I don't know. Clever rabbits they are. But it's not just them, vegan faux meat is way over priced everywhere you go.
I walked into a not very busy restaurant, and still had to wait about 35 minutes for 2 Big Macs for take-out. That seemed like a long wait. But the food was good. Would I go back? Yes I would.

Pros: All vegan, Great tasting food, Decent hours

Cons: Expensive, Long wait

Their Big Mac is Amazing

Had their Big Mac and it was unbelievable, I went back another day for another and my mouth is salivating thinking about it. However there are some issues with their service and accuracy.
Their service is super slow and inattentive. I know it is a family business and they are doing what they can, but would benefit from another employee or something. Also there was inaccuracy on their menu. I really dislike mustard and my girlfriend and I ordered a club sandwich to share with our big mac. The sandwich had mustard on it and it did not say so on the menu. Since they were so slow I did not send it back, and just ate around it.
Hard time to decide on the stars as the Big mac was a 6 out of 5. But the service and inaccuracy is like a 3 out of 5.

Pros: Big Mac, Amazing Bread

Cons: Slow, inattentive service., Menu discrepancy

Went for the deserts, Totally worth it

Small but cozy restaurant, well decorated with nice paintings of animals. We went there for the deserts and we are very happy of our choice. Very good and maybe even a tad too sweet but very tasteful. Coffee was very good as well. We will come back for actual food next time

Pros: lots of food options, good coffee, lots of deserts

Cons: big portions for desert

True Diner Feel

This is the best place in Edmonton to go if you want to get that diner feeling on a vegan diet! They have breakfast all day (always a plus in my book) and make their own bread which always tastes great.

Some menu descriptions aren't complete (some don't list all the sauces, so be sure to ask if you have dietary concerns) and some items have a consistency that makes them fall apart (like the chikn sandwich), but it still tastes great. I would recommend this place more for vegans, and would not bring a bunch of carnists -- lots of transformative tofu and seitan that may make a carnist unsure.

But the best part about this place??? THE BAKED GOODS!!! Oh my god. Cookies, cinnamon buns, brownies, Nanaimo, you name it -- and ALWAYS delicious. You can always see people with their mains eyeing the dessert display to make sure their choice item doesn't get snapped up. We are all vultures!

Pros: Amazing dessert, In house bread, Diner style menu

Cons: Unclear menu for some items , Some items don't hold together well

Great spot!

My husband and I ate here on our recent trip to Edmonton. I had the benedict and he had the Donair. Everything was delicious, especially the side of potatoes (both regular and the yam).
Only recommendation would be the Donair would benefit from a sauce with more flavour like a tzatziki type of blend, but that's a personal preference.
The owner was lovely and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely eat here again on our next trip.

Delicious but...

This place is not only beautiful, tasty and awesome! Super cozy, the food is terrific. I only wish they made the turkey sandwich in a panini, since its too big to eat and the bread starts falling apart.
The rest i cannot complain, daughter hubby and I love it (we are all vegans) OMG and the cinnamon bun!! To die for... we will be coming back!
Fyi: they got really good art you can purchase there too!

Pros: cozy, good food, affordable

Cons: a bit too spicy for me, parking hard to find

Love this place! :)

I've been here several times as the location is great and I like their food. The atmosphere is cute too. :) Try their bacon which is made of seitan -so yummy!!! I like their (chickpea burger I think it was?) -it is the first burger on their menu. It dies fall apart but I don't mind. :) The first time I ordered it, it seemed to come out with a home made bun which was delicous! I'm not sure if all their breads are home made?
Their tofu scramble for breakfast is yummy.
I had their burrito on their Easter Special menu and I reeeeally hope that goes onto their main menu!!!! So good!
For sweets I love their cinnamon buns (I usually get it without topping so isn't as sweet) and they had a donut with coconut on top once which was also very tasty! The other desserts I've tried so far were too sweet in my opinion.

Service: I'm often here on weekends and it always seems to be the same male waiter. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. Depending on how busy it is, it can take awhile to be served or get your food but I think that is just due to low staff. I've always enjoyed my food here. :)

Pricing: proving seems to be average to most vegan places in Edmonton. Roughly $15 for a plate. Their (smoothies?) are a bit pricy at $7 but was still tasty. :)

Pros: Great food, Knowledgeable staff, Cute decor!

Cons: Bit under-staffed
