Let Down - Edit
I wouldn't get my food again. It was edible but I was not enthused. I also got an iced tea and it had zero sweetener and zero option of adding one so I definitely wouldn't have ordered if I had known.

Best coffee - Edit
Every coffee I’ve tried here has been fantastic. The vibe is great and having Brunch Bird in the mornings and Plow Burger the rest of the day means you can always have a great meal as well.

Divey diner w/tasty food! - Edit
Ordered one of their summer specials, the patty melt with garlic parm fries. Bread was crispy on the top piece but soggy on the bottom. Flavor was great. Big portions! Got their hibiscus iced tea and cold brew made in house with oat milk and lavender syrup. Both delicious. It’s an odd and unconventional setup. You grab a menu, seat yourself, and order your food at the bar. Super nice bartender! She gives you a beeper that lights up when your food is ready. You walk to the back to get your order which is placed on a small table. No waitress ever checks in on you. Very darkly lit inside with odd seating and subfloor used as the finished floor. There is a lot of nice outdoor seating but it was way too hot for that. The meal was great though. I liked the bird art on the walls!

Phenomenal - Edit
Not crazy overpriced for the amount and quality of food. My non veg friend loved the food! Best vegan eggs Benedict I’ve ever had for sure. Fun ambiance and air conditioning inside.

One of the best coffees I’ve tried - Edit
A Honee Lavender Latte is what gave me the inspiration for this title. The freshest lavender syrup I’ve ever tasted (it was homemade), and it was topped with some dried lavender. Also had a good vanilla latte, both with almond milk. We had a ciabatta sandwich and a wrap, both very delicious. A very enjoyable experience and atmosphere. A little more on the expensive side but good to treat yourself once in a while.

We ate here our first morning in Austin and came back every day of our trip to try all their brunch options. Every single dish we tried was delicious.

Great Late Take-Out - Edit
I came here because it was the closest vegan spot open when I got to my hotel after arriving in Austin late on a Sunday night. My plan was to eat while getting some work done, but I was surprised to walk into a comedy show, so I got takeout. Vegan mozzarella sticks are impossible for me to resist, so I got those as well as the chicken caesar wrap with gravy spuds. The mozzarella sticks were crunchy and fantastic - 10/10 would eat again. The caesar wrap hit the spot, even if it was a little greasy at the end. For the gravy spuds, I had assumed from the description that they would be something poutine-like, but they were just breakfast roasted potatoes with gravy for dipping. Nothing wrong with that, but after the mozz sticks and wrap, I was pretty full, so I only picked at them a bit. All in all, definitely a great find! I'd definitely return.

I haven’t been to a breakfast joint in the longest time- and this was amazing - Edit
Personally, I don’t eat out too much and I’ve been pushing myself to try different things when I’m out in Austin, and this place had a very kind staff, very organized, and the food was great in my opinion. It almost felt as if I wasn’t vegan and just having a typical breakfast meal from what I remembered years ago.
Read moreThe meal I got was the lumberjack to which comes out to $16, but I personally think it’s worth it if you were with a friend or on a date since they have nice music, sociable seating, and the meal is worth experiencing with.
Pros: Great breakfast food, Great customer service, Very organized
Cons: Might be a little pricey for some people

Lackluster and gentrified - Edit
This location of Buzz Mill is in my opinion a business that had an opportunity to open another location and didn’t quite think it through. It seems to me like the only thing that they thought through was the power to charge $15 or more for flavorless breakfasts that aren’t even served with condiments.
Read moreI’ve visited Buzz Mill many times. I love the look, the feel, the outdoors, the staff are friendly as can be… I’ve had Brunch Bird many times. The staff again are very friendly, and the food was good enough. The prices were high but I mistakenly attributed that to a growing business trying to make enough money to get out of a [censored] location.
The food at brunch bird is large in portion sizes, but misses the mark on some very key elements.
1. Charging as much as they do for literally- beyond meat chicken tenders and silver dollar sized sausage patty’s should be illegal.
2. Enticing promises of vanilla lemon berry jam are met with ZERO FLAVOR
I’m also just gonna say it- what happened y’all? Did no one measure anything at this place before you started making the furniture for it?
The chairs and tables are all so mismatched you end up towering over the person on the other side of you. The booths inside literally cover half the windows in an already dimly lit establishment.
I mean, good for you for opening the place up but it lost the entire feel of buzz mill and I don’t plan to return any time soon.
