Tasty Korean Food

Social enterprise employing special needs staff. One of the few places to get (allium-free) vegetarian Korean food in Singapore! Vegan options are clearly indicated. There is more emphasis on natural ingredients rather than mock meat. Non-veg companions I’ve brought all enjoyed the food. Highly recommend the Kimchi Bulgogi Gamja Twigim, Kimchi Mandu, Odeng Bokkeum, and Savoury Sweet Shiitake & King Oyster Mushrooms. They’ve recently refreshed the menu with several new dishes being introduced too, including Jeonju-style Mul (Water) Jajangmyeon which I found interesting. Hope the menu can continue to be expanded with more regional specialties, as well as more temple-style cuisine! Also hope the egg and dairy can be replaced with vegan alternatives. Beautiful interior design after the renovation. No GST or service charge. Few minutes' walk from Tai Seng MRT Exit A! Btw the sister outlet Daehwa Vegetarian at One North has a similar menu but also some dishes exclusive to that outlet, so both branches are worth visiting~

Tasty Korean vegan food

I enjoyed my meal here of the Bibimbap with spicy sauce. Service was quick and decor simple and pleasant.

Pros: Non-vegan food clearly marked, Reasonably priced, Love a vegan option for Korean food

Cons: A little hard to get to

Popular place!

We had a good Korean meal here. Spice levels are good. Mock meat as well as mock cheese is used. Place is very popular and noisy, we had to wait even though we made a reservation.

Cons: Very popular, expect to wait

Vegetarian Korean Food

Having dined at this place since their original shop in bukit merah, I'm glad they moved to a bigger place near an MRT station now. Korean Army Stew is our favourite dish from this restaurant. The soup is very flavorful and the army stew comes with enoki mushroom, kimchi, rice cakes, toufu, mock ham and sausages. A less spicy version can be ordered though the flavor of the soup will be compromised. They also serve some side dishes to go with your meal too. The restaurant can be crowded at times as seen by the queue outside the shop but the food is served promptly upon ordering. Vegan options are available.

more banchan, please!

I love Korean food, but can't find a vegetarian option where I live so I was very willing to make a trek to The Boneless Kitchen while on holiday in Singapore. Since I was alone, I had to make the very difficult decision of choosing which of my two favorite dishes to eat: soondubu jjigae or dolsot bibimbap. I chose the bibimbap, and was very happy with it. My only complaint is that more banchan (side dishes) aren't served with the meal; I only received one and it was just boiled cabbage (not even kimchi!). You can order more at a cost, but Korean cuisine typically serves more than one with a meal complimentary.

Peace ...

Go to The Boneless Kitchen …

What’s Boneless Kitchen? It’s an eatery that serves 100% Vegetarian Korean Cuisine located near Tai Seng MRT station (Exit A). It’s great to see such diversity in Singapore food scene especially the vegetarian cuisine area.

One of the most popular dish here is Soondubu Jjigae 豆腐汤配饭 ($12.9) with Ramen or Rice, and I ordered it with Ramen. Delicious broth and spicy enough for me. Just that, it has too much tofu. I would prefer it to have a little more Kimchi or maybe replace with some Soy bean spout.

Kimchi Pancake ($3.9) is nice but a little oily and soggy. Otherwise, I would fall in love with this dish easily.

The Jajangmyeon 炸酱面($10.9) is popular with kids in Korean, no wonder my BIG kid who can’t take spicy food, loves this dish so much and only order this whenever he dines here. Not for me.

The side dish are free but not refillable, mashed potatoes and lettuce were served to us. Overall feel, it’s a nice eatery. Located in “Industrial area” and yet it’s almost full house on a Saturday. Reservation is recommended.

Delicious Vegan Korean Food

Boneless Kitchen has a nice menu with vegan options clearly marked. They serve hotpot (to share between 2 people) or ala carte rice/noodle dishes. All of the food I have tried has been fantastic. The food is quite spicy in a good way. The side dishes are also delicious. One of my favorite places for food in Singapore if only I lived closer.

Pros: Delicious food

one of the only Korean veg places

The pioneer Korean veg place in Singapore, boneless kitchen serves very, very classic Korean dishes. We ordered the dolsot bibimbap (with soy sauce), which tasted slightly bland and I suppose would’ve been better if we got some chilli sauce instead, and japchae. The japchae was amazing - Super flavourful. The appetisers were also pretty interesting, with crunchy and refreshing slightly pickled cucumber and kimchi radish instead of cabbage.

Pros: flavourful sides, japchae, healthy

Vegan-friendly eatery, perfect for gatherings

Dishes we tried:
• Army Stew (no cheese)
Not a fan of baked beans in stews, but thank goodness the Kimchi was able to cover up the tomato sauce flavour. Nothing special about the mocked meats, just that it adds flavour to the soup. Not very spicy despite how red it looks

• Kimchi Fried Rice (no egg)
One of my favourites from the menu. The fresh cut veggies goes well with the greasy fried rice. Not really spicy.

• Vegetable Pancake
I kept forgetting there’s potato slices in this. I’m not sure if this is really allium-free ‘cause there was something in this that smells and taste like spring onions. Goes well with the sauce.

• Spicy Rice Cakes
The spice just hits you like ‘bang!’ ‘Cause I wasn’t expecting it to be very spicy! Very chewy.

• Bean Paste Noodles
My other favourite on the menu. Bouncy noodles and savoury bean sauce, although sweeter compared to Chinese style bean paste noodles.

Do remember to make a reservation before coming down. We waited 20 minutes for our table and there was a line outside.

Delicious! Delicious! Mashida!

The fact that it’s all meatless just blows my mind away!

Ordered Army Stew, Kimbap and Odeng Bokkeum. All are amazingly nice and we just couldn't believe that it is vegetarian!

It's even better than the Korean food in Korea.
Very affordable too. Will definitely be back for more!

Pros: Amazingly delicious, Pocket Friendly

Cons: Limited seating capacity

Delicious Affordable Korean Food

The boneless kitchen is a vegetarian Korean restaurant that's almost entirely vegan. It's the only establishment I know of in Singapore that specializes in Korean vegan food! I've visited them twice now and I really enjoyed the meal both times.

They're conveniently located near Taiseng MRT on the circle line. Food here ends up being around $10-$15 per person depending on your appetite. Serving sizes are pretty generous so if you share you'll probably pay around $10 for a main dish and some side dishes.

The first time I was here I ordered the bibimbap because it seemed like a really healthy option. I didn't expect it to be THAT good. Oh but it was. The bibimbap arrived sizzling in a hot stone pot with seaweed, sesame, and a nice dollop of gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste) on top. I really love how crispy the rice got at the bottom! Overall this is one of my favourite dishes from The Boneless Kitchen.

Another highly recommended dish is the kimchi fried rice! It came with mock pieces of ham, fresh veggies and seaweed. The 'wok hei' flavour was quite prominent, a sign of an excellent fried rice! Wok Hei is a unique flavour that is created when stir-frying in a wok over very high heat. The kimchi stew with ramen noodles was really yummy too! It was served with tofu, enoki mushrooms, and other kinds of veggies.

Don't get the kimchi dumplings or pancakes... you can't really taste kimchi in them.

Overall I do recommend visiting The Boneless Kitchen not only because they're the only vegetarian Korean place here but also because of the really cozy environment (you can sit on the floor! on fruit cushions!), affordable prices, generous serving size and the fact that they've managed to create vegan versions of classic korean dishes without a heavy reliance on fake meats. Also they've clearly labelled on the menu what isn't vegan which is super convenient :-)

Pros: Non vegan dishes labelled, Cozy environment, Near mrt

Cons: Side dishes
