Love the breakfast!

Had a vegan breakfast from here on multiple occasions! Always been super yummy, they also offer a vegan hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, it’s a great treat!

Pros: Great location near beach, Fast service

Nice

Enjoyed avo toast and stottie sandwich and chips. Busy little place on August bank holiday Monday. Wait for tables indoors but outside it is just a case of grabbing one when it is free. Food nice. Yes dog friendly. Would return

Pros: Quite a few options

Dog friendly cafe with vegan options

Cosy cafe with some vegan options. Two of the cakes on display were vegan and some brunch options like a granola acai bowl and avo on toast. Loads of dogs in the cafe as the larger cafe next door doesn’t take dogs and it is 2 mins from a popular dog walking beach

Sinking Standards

There are some options for vegans; there is not as much as there used to be. There is even less of it than there used to be. Portion sizes have slimmed down - although the price hasn't.

I received a fraction of a 'full breakfast' with a solitary sausage. This was not an isolated incident. We have persevered with the food, but we fear that their formerly flavourful breakfasts have now been reduced in size and stature.

Often overcooked - we couldn't overlook it anymore. We began avoiding anything from the kitchen. The brought-in cakes & bakes are a better bet.

Go for the coffee.

Their coffee is brilliant.

Boatyard usually use an East African blend from Baristocracy - which is milder & fruitier than than most. They favour flavourful notes over the stronger & bitterer beans of companies like Tynemouth Coffee.

Boatyard's Ethiopian/Rwandan Blend - with hints of caramel and blueberry - is my favourite coffee.

It is reason to return.

The venue & 'vibe' is good. The barista staff are nice and friendly. It is a lovely place to enjoy one of the best blends of coffee around.

My Labrador loved it here. I still enjoy the coffee.

Edited to add: they charge an extra 30p for plant-based milk and 60p(!) extra for syrup.

"Yeah, buoy!"

Perfectly located cafe on the seafront with a good selection of vegan options, which are clearly labelled. I was in the area so popped in and ordered a slice of oreo cake and carrot and orange cake to share with my other half. The oreo cake was very flavourful but I found the texture a little dry (slightly overbaked perhaps?). However, the carrot and orange cake was absolutely divine. I would like to sample more of the menu and would certainly visit again, so its a solid 3🌟 for now.

Pros: Clearly labelled vegan options , Location

Cons: Serves meat / dairy

Great vegan sausage bagel

Loved the sausage breakfast bagel with cheese and spinach. Great coffee too.
