Unfortunately during the week it’s not open for lunch, but worth the wait for dinner. Friendly staff, tasty food, nice vibe.

Everything was great! Cauloflower wings were bang on and creamiest mac n cheese, my daughter loved it! Gyro was fantastic and the space itself was very warming. Great choice of taps and I enjoyed a lovely mocktail. Will be back!

Cauliflower wings! - Edit
We make a few trips here every time we are in Austin. The cauliflower wings are a must, we promise they are not the basic cauliflower wings you make at home. I love the burgers , can’t wait to be back and try more!

Vegan Gastropub - Edit
There’s not many places that I find are vegan and also have a variety of beers on tap! It’s a fine dining experience here, we $30 for entree, an appetizer, and a drink each among the three of us. Food is excellent!

Incredibly delicious! - Edit
This place has some really great vegan food that will blow your taste buds away. Depending on your definition of healthy, the menu is a bit heavy for those of you avoiding oils, grains and more processed substitutes, but this has Austin’s best tasting plant based foods overall in my opinion. The buffalo cauliflower wings are insane, and the Mac and cheese is incredible!!! This is my go to spot for vegan comfort food!

100% Plant-based Eatery in Austin, TX - Edit
This is a 100% plant-based restaurant with a full bar! All the food is delicious. They have great appetizers, sandwiches, entrees and the Blacksmith burger can be made oil-free if you drop the aioli mayo.

Lovely Brunch - Edit
I brought my non-vegetarian friends here for brunch and we all loved it! The biscuits and gravy were delicious, as was the coffee. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was great as well. The wait time was a bit long but we were able to sit at the bar no problem. It’s on the other side of town for me, but I certainly plan to go back!

All around okay - Edit
My wife and I have been to The Beer Plant a few different times, and would have been more if the wait wasn't incredibly long due to very little overall seating. In the times we were able to get a seat and enjoy a meal and the atmosphere, we had a good time. There are some creative dishes that are good, but the price to portion ratio is pretty off. Everything seems very overpriced for what you get and the quality of the food always seems like something I could have made at home with no previous cooking skills. That said, we've enjoyed everything we've eaten, but there hasn't been anything to write home about. I think the place was very hyped up at it's opening and now there's almost a 50/50 split between those who love or hate this place. It's definitely worth checking out at least once for the cool atmosphere, but you might not want to go back. Honestly, my biggest problem is how tiny the place is as we never know if we'll get a table right away or have to wait for an hour, and when you have to wait an hour for mediocre overpriced food, it'll make you pretty grumpy. A plus is this store is right next to Rabbit Food Grocery's new location!

100% vegan gastro pub food. - Edit
I came here twice. Once by myself and ate at the bar. The place was jam packed on a Friday evening. I had the bbq, which was very good, and the buffalo cauliflower, which was also very good. I then came for Sunday brunch. The brunch may be great, but we had reservations at 2:30 and, by then, they were out of half of the menu. What I had was good (skillet), but what my friends had was not so good. The waffles, for instance, were not edible. Hard as rocks. They were nice about it, discounted our checks, but it would have been better to have good food. I think the key is to come early.

Wasn't my favorite, but I think it is what I ordered. - Edit
I will say going into the restaurant I had high hopes for the burger on a gf bun. ... but was sadly unhappy with it around bite three. Now here is why: The burger is made of quinoa, onions and such.. but the problem is that the burger was mushy and the onions were in every single bite.. like to the point of "we get it.. you have onions in this burger." The Cashew cheese that I order on the burger was delicious though.. but even then that flavor got bland because of the lack of flavor in the burger. I did add onions, pickles, lettuce, mayo and so forth.. but all I could taste was the over powering flavor of the bland patty (if that makes sense) and the bun. Now let's move on to the fries.. yes they are fresh cut, but omg were they burnt and not good. I literally ate 5 fries out of the whole thing.
Read moreSo I would say that my burger was a 2 out of a 5. I am willing to go back and try something else as my husband's food was good. The cheese plate looked good, and some of the other things on the menu. Unfortunately half the stuff I want to try isn't gluten free. .. story of my life. Our ticket over all was about $40+ with tip and everything. I will say though the environment is cute, the service is great and they do get packed for the little space they are in. I am happy there is a vegan place like this around for us plant based folks. Please don't just take my word for it, please go.. try it.. you could totally have a different experience then me.
Pros: 100% vegan, Great customer service, Great date night place
Cons: Expensive, limited GF food , Not all the food is worth it.

Vegan Pub well done - Edit
Deliciously tasty food, good drink selection, convenient location, plentiful free parking, friendly knowledgeable personnel, good service. Yes, all in one 100% vegan pub! And yes, in Austin Texas. Finally got to try this place while in Austin for a funeral; the experience lightened the melancholy of the reasons for my being in the city. Got take out and passed on the drinks because of my 3 hour drive back to Houston. Fun, fresh food, housemade sauces - yes! The Mac and cheese with its deliciously creamy cashew cheese sauce, was as comforting as Mac should be. The Hops and Chips were awesome! Beer battered Hearts Of Palm (HOPs), deep fried yet not at all greasy, with Cajun remoulade sauce, served with pickle, red cabbage slaw, and fresh, handcut well seasoned fries. The Buffalo cauliflower wings were okay, yet I was a bit disappointed that the buffalo sauce was not Incorporated in to the cauliflower batter, which would have made for tastier wings. Sauce was good for dipping though, as was the ranch dressing included with the order. Will suggest it. I'm not a regular visitor to Austin, yet this will be a regular stop when I am there. Plans are for the location to be part of a vegan mini-mall, like in Portland OR. Rabbit Food grocery store's new location will open there in the spring, with plans for holistic health space & a yoga studio, among other compassionate businesses.

Very good food and drinks! - Edit
So nice not to have to check barnivore to see if the drink I want to order is vegan! I had the Big Bend - which was a delicious BBQ seiten sandwich. Truffle fries were fine, but nothing special. The sriracha brussel sprouts are the only brussel sprouts I've ever liked! The blood orange cider was delicious. And my friend with celiac was happy to find lots of GF options. My husband and I rried the carrot cake for dessert and were disappointed. But overall it was a fantastic meal!

I am a whole food plant based no oil vegan and I find it amazing that they have oil free options clearly labeled on the menu and hope they continue to have them. I have had the Jardinero tacos, the burger, the Ploughmans Plate, rice, beans, and a side salad and all were delicious. I've had birthday dinners here and all my omni friends loved it. It's a great transition restaurant so non vegans can see they still have tons of options and they are just as tasty if not tastier.
