Didn't Love It - Edit
I hate giving 100% vegan places bad reviews but the food was not good, to the point where I wondered if the chefs ate their own food, it seemed impossible to me to think so. Mac n cheese had no flavor, HILL COUNTRY ‘CHICKEN’ & GRAVY was ridiculous, double thick wads of seitan almost inedible (my omnivore friend tried it even tho I told her it was terrible and she thought it tasted like dog food) the mashed potatoes and gravy were just not tasty and of a thick consistancy, broccoli side was the best part but was basically just steamed broccoli so that's not saying much. My partner had the little gem salad and liked it but to me it was overly tart and boring. We just happened to strike up a conversation with the patron next to us and I asked him how his Buffalo Cauliflower Wings were and he said he sent them back because he thought the oil was rancid, they brought him a new plate and he didn't eat it because it tasted the same! My friends all like their beers and the place was packed so maybe I just ordered wrong!? The bartender who served us was super nice so an extra star for her attentive service. She told us they had a new coffee and breakfast taco place next door so maybe we'll give that a try some time.

Bring back old mac & cheese - Edit
We went there for second time just for the mac & cheese . Unfortunately they have changed the recipe and it doesn’t taste the good. Sad coz this was such a cool place for dinner. They have great selection of beers. Fries and grilled sandwich was good.

Good food, cozy atmosphere - Edit
We got the avocado egg Benedict and the honey butter chicken sandwich. The avocado egg Benedict could have used a little more flavor but it was good and the potatoes that came with were yummy too. I loved the sweetness of the honey butter chicken sandwich but the seitan chicken was huge and made it impractical to eat. Food wasn't very hot but service was quick, friendly and attentive. The mimosa hit the spot!

Eggplant Parmesan! - Edit
Ordered their eggplant Parmesan with prickly pear lemonade and husband got their Hill country chick’n with gravy and Thirsty Goat beer. I loved mine but the hub’s seitan chick’n was too thick and huge, and tasted like peanuts. Strange. Also dry. Not enough gravy, so he had to ask for more. It came with a small portion of broccoli and a small portion of mashed potatoes. He would’ve liked less chick’n and more taters and veg. On the other hand, my eggplant Parmesan crust was super crispy and wonderful. Just divine! Great flavor. My prickly pear lemonade was also fabulous. The Thirsty Goat beer was decent but not a hit. Husband likes dark beer (porters, stout) but they didn’t have any. We sat outside because it was way too loud inside. A bit warm but we managed. Service was okay, but they forgot about us at the end and the cleanup crew was clearing the tables and getting ready to close. Got a dessert to go but server brought it out on a plate. Husband said it was just okay tasting. Server was very nice and we liked the outdoor ambiance.

A date night meal. - Edit
The ambiance and food at the beer plant is a perfectly curated for a comfort food dream. The best plates to get are their cauliflower wings (best ones I’ve ever had) and eggplant parm. Mac and cheese was 5/10, and the Nashville hot and crispy was a 4/10 (very crispy, but not hot nor flavorful). Overall would come back to try different things on the menu. The selection of sweet slices of cake is also heaven. This is a do not miss in Austin!

Great for drinks, apps , and dessert - Edit
The Buffalo cauliflower was exceptional and huge. So many ipa and other drink choices. And the coconut cake was light and rich and wonderful.
Read moreOur Mac n cheese was runny and subpar. His country fried chicken and cream gravy was … well, the flavor was good but the texture of the chicken was a bit firm (as might be expected for seitan). Ask for more gravy! My kale Caesar was mediocre, but huge. The oyster fried mushroom I added to it was fun. All on all a great place for apps, drinks and dessert. Otherwise- meh.
Pros: All vegan, Fun vibe, Free parking
Cons: Typical American flavor palate

The service and environment here is great. This is a popular spot and has a lot of great reviews; however, the food itself leaves room for improvement.

The service was super amazing. The cocktails were equally as great. The food just wasn't the best vegan food I've eaten at a vegan restaurant.

Food was okay but not great - Edit
We came for dinner here this week and were pretty disappointed as generally we’ve had really good experiences with vegan food in Texas but Beer Plant was fairly mediocre. The chicken (from the chicken and gravy) was very dry and the burger was just a quinoa-type mush. It was edible but not very good - I think it’s the first time we’ve not finished a meal out since coming to Texas and not wanted to at least take a box of leftovers home. Apparently the beer and cauliflower wings were good though.

The burger was just so very disappointing 🙁 - Edit
We went Friday evening. The Buffalo Cauliflower was lovely and a great start but the ‘ Home Made’ Burger just broke me and ruined my day. Quinoa is not a burger, as vegans we have evolved beyond this!

Usually tasty, but overpriced - Edit
Most of The food here is good, though probably 1/3 of the things I’ve ever ordered are extremely under seasoned and fairly flavorless. Which I could forgive if dishes weren’t $17-$25 for a tiny serving that leaves you hungry. In my opinion, the restaurant is completely overpriced for what they are serving. I’d much rather eat at one of the other many vegan restaurants in Austin.

Nice place, just don't go there late - Edit
We had a friend flying in late, so we reserved for 9.15pm (Sunday night). After we were seated, we were informed that half the menu wasn't available as they had run out of ingredients, so we ordered mac n cheese, crab cakes, and brussel sprouts. The mac n cheese came out immediately but was cold, so I asked for it to be heated again. The crab cakes tasted okay but the salad was woeful, being a simple rocket salad with what tasted like the scraps of what was left of the asparagus (it tasted old and chewy) as you can see in the photo. For $17 before tax, I expected more. The coconut cake was excellent though, and it's not often you can get a vegan light sponge cake like that.
Read moreThe ambiance is lovely, the beer is great, and the servers were nice (they kindly didn't charge us for the mac n cheese), but we just didn't have a great experience with the food like all the other reviewers seemed to have.

I went there with 3 non-vegan relatives, we all shared the buffalo cauliflower wings (huge and delicious), the loaded fries and the crab cakes, everything tasted great, we all liked it, they also have very good service. I would definitely go back when I am in Austin, I do suggest making reservations as it is very busy.
