Cosy community cafe with affordable vegan options - Edit
Lovely, lively community vibe. Staff very helpful.
Read moreToday there was a bean stew and a vegan panini option, but unfortunately the soup contained dairy. Bean stew was very generously portioned, filling and fairly priced. Perfect for fuelling up on a cycle ride!
Would have been nice to see some vegan cakes available, not sure if I just got unlucky or if they don't generally offer them.
Two individual toilet cubicles, one for all genders and one accessible.
Pros: Affordable vegan options, Wonderful, inclusive community space, Lovely staff

Great community cafe - Edit
We wouldn't usually eat in a place that isn't fully veg, however when the ethos is pay-as-you-can to save food from going to waste we made an exception. There are also very few veg options in the area too, so it's a real gem for the small viallage of Chopwell to have a vibrant community cafe.
Read moreThe menu has vegan options, including a hot meal, soup and sandwiches, some of which are also gluten free. The menu changes depending on what food has been donated.
The cakes and sweet treats always look delicious, it's just a shame that none of them are vegan.
It's simple, nourishing food that's also benefitting the local community.
