Just Wow!!!!

Where to begin with this one! A hidden gem during our stay at the Sai Phi Phi village with a 5 min walk from our hotel room. The lovely hospitality with the smiling faces and chatter was very wholesome to see at a presumed small family run restaurant. They were accommodating to our requests, as we are vegetarian and we don’t have fish sauce, oyster sauce or shrimp paste plus we’re not particularly feeling like egg that night.

Now to the food!! The vegetable spring rolls off the bat were a top contender for us in terms of spring rolls on this trip. With the crunch and fresh vegetable filling almost reminiscent of a fresh rice paper roll but fried and with the flakiness you would expect from a pastry spring roll. The serving size was very reasonable. Simply Delicioso!

The panang vegetable + tofu curry was one of the best curries we had thus far on our Thailand food trip. The concentrated flavours were just wanting to be savoured in our mouths forever. We simply didn’t have the time to even take a photo before we half consumed it yet again. This was certainly the show stopper. Only issue was portion size was on the smaller side (steamed rice served with the curry on the plate though)

The Pad See Ew was probably the weakest when placed next to its contemporaries however still pretty good. Our only issue was that we would get hints of the potential flavour which was clearly a strong game but then this would dissipate as the rest did not feel so flavoured. However this was made much better with mixing the seasoning, the chilli (use the powder, not the fresh stuff which was super hot), lime and sugar (all provided on the plate). So maybe that was just on us to try it without mixing

The fried rice was simple (we normally prefer having egg with this but had been over it by this point) but yummy. The flavours were ever present and a nice way to end the dinner.

Honestly would recommend this to any of our vegetarian and vegan friends in a heartbeat. Will definitely be coming back one day. They also take card by the way, not just cash, which was super good.

A highlight of our trip

We were pleasantly surprised at the warmth of everyone here. Although there are almost no vegan options on the menu, they were very accommodating with our requests and we got to sample a few great local dishes, prepared without any animal products.

Gorgeous and friendly kittens may accompany you while dining.

Pros: Food was deli, super-friendly, kittens!
