…Just what - Edit
Mind was blown by the fusion elements! Sad that I wasn’t able to try more dishes.
Read moreThe Jamaican curry was honestly unreal, and the staff gave me some additional hot sauce which worked amazingly with the plantain.

Incredible food with great atmosphere - Edit
The food was amazing and 100% vegan - we had the gyoza, katsu chicken, and roti wrap plate, as well as a yummy coconut milkshake. The restaurant was small and full of people, with a really lovely atmosphere. Would definitely visit again and recommend even to non-vegan friends

Healthy and Fresh - Edit
My first stop in Amsterdam didn’t disappoint. Food is affordable, fresh, and delicious. What else could you want? I got the BLT and it was really tasty (€12). Can’t wait to come back to try something else

Love the vibe! - Edit
The vibe is super cozy and cultural! I love the idea of the place the staff was super friendly we came with 2 toddlers and 1 baby I wouldn’t say it’s very kid friendly because of the tables being high and they don’t have high chairs. The food taste pretty good but the portions don’t match the pricing I paid €18 for the Jamaican plate and I was still hungry and my husband got the fried rice he wasn’t full at all.

Cons: Too expensive for portions , Not kid friendly because of the high tables

Best vegan spot in Amsterdam, as far as I know - Edit
All the dishes we had were amazing.
Read moreOne downside was that the portions were a bit small. Also, the description of the dishes on the menu is very vague (it just lists the main ingredients).
Pros: Great food, Nice atmosphere
Cons: Small portions, Lacking descriptions of dishes on menu

Stop by for a reggae lunch - Edit
The store shines with its authentic, unobtrusive style. The walls are hand-painted and the kitchen is within sight. The seating is "diner" style, i.e. higher tables with bar stools.

Tasty - Edit
It was tasty but seems very health oriented. Mix of Japanese and Jamaican dishes with mock meats and teas. Good for a quick lunch but I don't recommend for a "nice" dinner out.

Don’t bother - Edit
I ordered the Crispy (it wasn’t) Roti Wrap and Spring Rolls on recommendation from the server. The food was an unfocused mishmash of uncomplimentary flavours and soggy textures. Far from restaurant-quality.

Cons: Niet heel goedkoop, Klein: 7 tafels, 26 stoelen

Really nice vibe and excellent food! We got the Jamaican curry, cashew and coconut milkshakes and a side of roti - the main was plenty of food on its own and very delicious!

Unique Menu - Edit
We just happened to be walking passed, and stopped inside on a whim. So glad we did! We shared the vegan plate and the crunchy dragon roll, and everything was delicious. I think the Caribbean / Japanese concept pairs well together.

Authentic and worth a visit. - Edit
The place has a bohemian, or some might say, dingy, atmosphere. Bright, haphazard decor. Service was fast. It’s one of the few vegan only places in the very core of the city. Seemed to be popular with locals.
Good menu with a range of dishes. Reasonably priced.
I had the Jamaican plate which was very very good. Great flavours - not just a ‘generic’ curry flavour.

Thought this would be a fusion of Japanese/Jamaican food - Edit
When I first found this restaurant on Happy Cow, I thought there would be dishes mashed up between Japanese and Jamaican. I didn't see much of that on the menu. It appeared to be Japanese dishes and Jamaican dishes. Regardless, we were not disappointed with the food at all. We were so happy to see the different variety and types of vegan food available and we gladly tried the Vegan plate and the Jamaican plate. We also started with coconut milk shakes and the Crispy Jackfruit, which we had never had before.
Read moreThe Crispy Jackfruit wasn't super crispy, more like a light tempura batter, but it was still quite tasty and if I see it again, I will definitely try it again. The Vegan and Jamaican plates were good, but we were surprised the curry on the Jamaican plate wasn't a lot spicier. I guess the local clientele can't tolerate spicy food? Again, we were not disappointed by the food. Everything was very tasty and we know it was freshly prepared because one of the owners arrived shortly after we did with a basketful of produce from the market!
Staff was friendly and the restaurant got crowded so I guess they're doing something right! We found the prices to be a little high, but we don't know what the market is like since we were visitors. We might go back after we've tried more vegan restaurants.
Pros: Fresh food, Friendly staff
Cons: Can be pricey, Not as fusion as we had believed
